Guest guest
I recently received my thyroid test results and have a question about how to proceed: TSH, 3rd Gen. 0.26L (Ref. 0.40-4.50 mIUL) T4, Free 1.2 (Ref. 0.8 - 1.8 ngdL) T3, Free 3.0 (Ref: 2.3 - 4.2 pg/mL) According to these results, my T3 and T4 are within normal limits, as verified by my naturopath. I have been taking 30 mg. of dessicated lactose-free thyroid for about a month, and also Lugol's (transdermally) for about two weeks. I am up to five drops (5%) per day, and am feeling so much better, energy-wise. My naturopath said I should continue taking the dessicated thyroid since it seems to be helping along with the iodine. Does this sound like a good plan? Also, how will I know that I no longer need the thyroid? Just to give everyone hope, for the past two years, I have not felt well, extremely fatigued, digestive issues, cold all the time, muscle weakness, strange pains in legs, etc. Well, I can finally say that I feel like my body is responding to something, and I think it's the iodine and thyroid. Previously, one year ago, I had tried the dessicated thyroid, but it didn't help me feel better. Guess I needed the iodine. Thank heavens for naturopaths who are really good listeners. Pam H.
