Yes it can, diabetics have to monitor their BG's. Iodine improves hormone

receptors and can allow the body to use insulin more effectively.

I took this to mean "non diabetics" - so that was my frame of reference. A normal person.

No it does not pull the body out of a normal function. It is a form of an adaptogen.

Yes, I should have worded that to apply to diabetics.

Hi ,

I have some hypoglycemia episodes and my doctor wants me to test for

hypoglycemia. So that's why I asked if iodine (I take 12,5 mg) can give

hypoglycemia.

If I still have those hypoglycemic episodes should I lower my iodine?

If it were me, I would not. I would continue on the iodine since we know that iodine has positive effects on the islet cells of the pancreas. I would manage my hypoglycemia with good foods as well as some glucose supporting products like Dr. Brownstein's "Gluc-Control" www.centerforholisticmedicine.com

Are you sure it's hypoglycemic episodes, are you verifying with a glucose meter?
