You are correct - if you scan the first part you think he is against it yet he is a proponent. He is on the Iodine practitioner list on www.breastcancerchoices.org for Florida.

** His blog has some issues - one he spelled Hashimotos wrong in Part II - title

** 2nd - he is using a quote from Dr. Brownstein on an old interview with Shomon that states iodine with hashi's is like pouring gas on a fire - without qualifying that he no longer believes this.

** 3rd - The iodine group is almost 5,500 members not 3,900 members.

** 4th - After stating that Dr Brownstein says Iodine makes Hashi's worse he adds him as a proponent and says he has seen good results. That's confusing.

I am glad he addressed that the missing component that Dr K and others don't address is the protective role of Selenium and how adding it allows the body to tolerate higher doses of iodine. :)

He needs to clean up the blog then. He's got a pic of Morton's iodized salt,

anyone that's health conscious will know processed salt is bad for you, he

probably loses folks right there.

His second paragraph quotes Dr. K, again will lose folks.

The third paragraph quotes his agreement that iodine worsens autoimmune

thyroiditis and transient hyperthyroidism. He includes Dr. B's statement that

we know he does not advocate anymore and has taken back.

That's where he lost me.

I totally agree with all you said here, esp. that he remove that ugly Morton's salt shaker!  It made me shudder in disgust, LOL!!But I did read down to where I understood he is a proponent, maybe someone should send him a nice note, making him aware of the small discrepencies.

I agree - his blog is rather unorganized and hard to find the point. Sad because he is an advocate. :(

I would have read further had I realized Ido was the original poster, I did not

notice that. I know several docs who are advocates but still can't get past

mainstream ideas.
