Guest guest
HI Having been on T3 along with T4 when should I have a test done for T3, and what type of test. Should I also on the day of a test not take any T3 and should I also leave off the T4. Kathleen
Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, It is usual not to take T3 for 24 hours before blood is drawn, my experience is that if you do take it your FT3 will be twice what it would be if blood was taken 24 hours later. This can result in docs panicing and an unwarranted reduction in meds. As it takes 25 days of more for dose changes of T4 to stabilise there is no need to stop that before blood is drawn. > > HI > Having been on T3 along with T4 when should I have a test done for T3, and what type of test. Guest guest
Many thanks , but will not take T3 for 24 hours before having FT3,but how long should I be taking T3 for before having a test done for FT3, and I would presume that I would have to get it done privatley. I have just increased my T3 up to one quarter of a 25mcg T3 pill twice a day. I am also trying to decrease the Prednisolone down to one 5mg pill a day (it was one 5mg twice a day). If muscle pain comes back will go back to the original dose. I am going slow with T3 as I can end up doing too much and then tire myself out.
