Guest guest
Welcome Karey! The Biotics product is just like Iodoral - it is Lugol's formula in a pill. Who is the doctor you are seeing in Michigan? I live in Michigan and am always looking for more doctors that will help those who need it. TSH increases with iodine supplementation in some cases as the body normalizes. You can read about it in the new member document that was sent to you when you joined or you can access a copy in the FILES Of the group. Buist, ND HC Iodizyme-HP Hi, I am new to the group. 1st time posting. Diagnosed with Hashimotos in July after 6 weeks mis-diagnosed as Anxiety. My Endo was not going to treat me as "my TSH was within normal". I found a great Doctor in Michigan, who uses supplementation along with the Naturethroid to treat me. I am on most all of the companion nutrients. When I first started taking iodine.. I could not tolerate it. I would for sure have a day of Racing heart, foggy head, sick to stomach etc. if I took the Iodine. My Dr. had me do 1 month of the Companion supplements first to build in my system. I am now up to 6 Iodizyme-Hp tablets per day (Made by Biotics) and am tolerating them quite well. I am only on 1/4 grain of Naturethroid and at my next visit will finally get this increased since I can now tolerate the Iodine. My TSH number at last check has gone from the 2.5 range to 4.61. I hear alot about Lugols. Is this just a brand of choice... or is there a reason why I mostly see Lugols mentioned on this site? The Biotics brand I take says: in 1/2 tablet: Iodine/Iodide 6.25mg: Broken down as Iodine 2.5mg and Iodide (as potassium salt) 3.75 mg. So I am taking 75mg total per day. He wants me on this amount for 6 months and then reduce to 2 tabs per day. Is there a difference between the Lugos and the Biotics brand?I am also using 1 1/2 tsp of Celtic Sea salt daily and I sure notice on the days that I don't take it. Does anyone know of a place to get Celtic Sea Salt pre-packaged in a Capsule? (I made my own last night which took a while to do.) I have a hard time drinking it mixed in a liquid (I have actually thrown it back up). Any Help would be Great!
