Bonnie,

You can read about apoptosis here:

You can also google to find out more. Sorry I don't know more about it. Best, Kathleen

Hello:

Can Apoptosis only be PRESENT in the higher doses of Iodine or at ANY DOSE?

If a person has Cancer can Apoptosis be INITIATED at doses as low as 50 mg. or not?

Thanks,

Sure anything is possible. Iodine is used by the P53 gene which is responsible for apoptosis. The goal is to initiate a high level of death that may not occur until the higher doses are present. Remember you are trying to exceed the rate at which abnormal cells are growing - kill them off faster than they are being created. I don't think there is any way to know what dose does that for two reasons - testing limitations and bioindividuality.

Her second paragraph is pretty clear to me - yes you need higher than 50 mgs when you are facing cancer. I agree with this as well and it is what I did personally when fighting cancer. I started at 50 mgs but saw no progress. It wasn't until I went to 100 and then 125 mgs / day that I really made progress. Now I know that many cancer patients take 200 - 300 mgs / day.
