I think thats what they rely on, people not questioning it.

My 18 mth old has had no vaxes, not even the vit k at birth. it has

been some hassle but not too bad. What can they do? hold you down?

just intimidate you, if you let them.

You need to be more serious and fixed with them, write to the health

authority as well and inform them. if you change your mind they can

give the vaccines at any time and will be falling over backwards to

do so.

I havent seen my hv since the baby was born - they dont bother here,

too many social problems to be chasing little old me. We're not

sick so i dont see the gp. if they're too much, don't see them or

change gp. Yes, you can do that.

Theres lots of non vaxers around, part vaxers/delayed. We don't all

seem to be falling down dying so what does that tell us.

Amy welcome. The best advice start a journal, set some goals, do inventory on what you would like to change, and dont forget water, portions, and exercise. For me I wish i started when you are when my kids where younger. To have those years back. BUT as I have said before we have to move forward and not dwell on the past.

Hi Amy & Welcome! Stop focusing on how you feel

and remmeber who you are and what wonderful

qualities you have - write down 5-10 of your good

traits, just as a reminder - then keep

remembering you are a person of worth. I like the

old saying God don't make junk :) As far as hubby

maybe if you remind him that you'd like to grow

old with him, maybe he'll lay off the ice cream.

Congrats on the 3 pound loss! you're right - if

the junk don't come in - you can't be tempted. Or

if you're counting calories - I love those 100

packs - though rather expesive. If there are

cookies around I add those 100-160 calories to my

day. Good luck on your first goal!

Hi Amy, Welcome! I am new here too, not new to the weigh loss scene. One of these wonderful ladies here posted a link to fitday.com and I tell ya it has been one of the most important things I do daily. I enter all my food there and even enter custom food with the exact numbers from my box and it is really hiting me hard putting it in front of my face. I am learning a lot from it. A few times I was thinking I was doing so well at each meal but once you add them all together for the day I was no where where I wanted to be. So to see it on the screen was a real help to me. Good luck with this battle, These ladies here are WONDERFUL. I am so thankful I found this group!!! Myssi

HI, Amy My name is Jana and I started this weight loss journey or I should say life style change last year in March, I weighed 325lbs. I got down to 237 and I hit a road block a major one, I was eating everything in sight and I got up to 250 so I threw my scale out.

About a week ago I decide to get my butt back in gear and get this weight off once and for all, so I gave up pop cold turkey and I have noticed that I dont eat as much when I drink the water, all I ever drank before was diet pepsi( with no water). I went and bought another scale last night and I am back down to 235. I know about the cookies they are bad LOL I could eat the whole thing sometimes and say I cant believe I just did that. I have a problem with eating late at night but here lately I havent even been tenpted, I hope you all have a wonderful evening, Jana

you need to lose at least 79 pounds according to the chart I have depending on your age. at 5'4" a 19-34 year old woman should weigh between 111-146 and 35 years old and up should weigh 122-157. Hi ,

Welcome here. I don't know what the answer is for a "ideal" weight for someone your height either. You could look eDiets or sparkpeople or something for recommendations, or ask your doctor (of course there are gals on this group that could tell you in a heartbeat LOL)

I am , have lost 30 lbs and probably have a good 90 to go

Hey nancy welcome. So sorry late with the welcome. Crazy here in NH right now. I wieghed in at 234 this am. I am about 5 ft 4 and a few inches. What I have decided is not to look at the 100 lbs to lose. First 10% AND 199 is what I am looking for. It is suggested by many to pick a long term goal. Short term goal. AND maybe another type. Whether it is a milestone 199 OR a dress size. What program are you following.

You can do it ...just set small goals and knock them down like bowling pins! I have 150 to lose or thereabouts...if I look at that figure I'm defeated before I start...but in ten pound increments it's doable. Evening all...I am new to this group and happy

to find a group of

people who understand what I am going through. I am in the middle of

the diagnosis process but my doctor strongly feels that I have

achalasia (I had an abnormal barium swallow and upper endoscopy -- I go

for the myometry (sp??) on Tuesday). I am from Ann Arbor Michigan.

Just wanted to stop by and say hi for now.

Thanks...Doreen

like you're in the last lap of the diagnosis process. We will

look forward to hearing from you after your manometry

Doreen,

Welcome to the group! Where are you going for your tests? My

husband, , has Diffuse Esophageal Spasm (a different motility

disorder) and was seen by Dr. Nostrandt at U of M for tests. He

wasn't too impressed by the doctor, but U of M's tests were more

accurate than the ones that were done at Troy Beaumont, closer to

home. We live in St. Clair Shores and there are a few others in the

group from Michigan. Good luck with your manometry! It's not usually

pleasant, but it does help them in diagnosing. Please keep us posted

on how you're doing! It's important to find doctors that have

experience with treating achalasia. This is a very caring group and

many can offer advice and certainly support for you! Try to have a

good weekend in our heatwave!

Dear Doreen, Welcome to the Group. We have another member who lives in Ann Arbor. He is called . He has not posted for a while, but it would be nice for him to get in touch. He might live across the street (lol). It seems to me that a good diagnosis of achalasia can be made from a barium swallow alone. Then the endoscopy can check for abnormalities and is a chance to perform a biopsy (very valuable - it is SOOOO nice to be confirmed that you have no cancer). The manometry, as I am sure, you will know by now, measures the pressure and movement. It is recorded on a computer print-out, a little bit like an ECG reading. Those 3 together normally complete the set and then the surgeon/consultant knows what he is working with and what advice to give

you. Good luck Doreen, love from Ann in England xxxreeni_joy <reeni_joy@...> wrote: Evening all...I am new to this group and happy to find a group of people who understand what I am going through. Yay for new shoes Sula!! I need to remember to replace mine every 3 months, pretty much on schedule, or my legs, feet, etc are screaming at me. You mention being "off balance" - do you have orthotics to wear, or can you look into them? Even a lesser expensive OTC type might help...

The " out of balance " comment wasn't refering to being literally out of balance.

It's nothing

to do with my shoes and everything to do with my spine. I have 3 degenerative

disks in my

lumbar spine. It's a bit of a chicken-egg thing, but my piriformis muscle

tightens up, thus

causing sciatic problems and lower back pain (or, inflamation causes the back

pain, then I

walk 'off' and start up the piriformis issues... hard to say!). My left leg is

much more

muscular than my right. I have mild neuropathy issues along the outside of my

right calf

only, and across the top of my right foot - the sciatic/piriformis mucle is also

on my right

foot. Additionally I get a horrible knot up by my right shoulderblade. In short

- the right

side of my body has issues!

Anything that I should be aware of to join in more.

Nothing set in stone. People weigh on varying days during the week. We are usually good to let each other know the ups, downs and in betweens. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. The only challenge right now is a walking/step challenge for the month of March - trying to walk as much as we can each day... there is a database on our group's home page that you can log your steps on. Otherwise, just jump in and stir the pot as you feel comfortable. Make any challenge you want, others might join ya. Oh, and I have challenged myself to move during the commercials during American Idol when I watch it LOL!

Right now there's a walking challenge going on. Details are in the Database
