One that has had success with cancer and thyroid issues. I know that there are Naturopaths that don't necessarily have to meet with you in person but will work with you by phone or Skype etc. Any recommendations? I live in Maine and googled Maine but didn't find any that specialize in cancer. Distance is not an issue for me if I can find a doctor I believe in. I've had some not so good experiences with doctors these past couple of years and would greatly appreciate your help and suggestions. I am a naturopathic practitioner (cannot order labs or prescribe drugs) and I healed from thyroid cancer with iodine. You can look on www.breastcancerchoices.org - iodine practitioner list for someone who may be near you. My practice will be going next month - at this point I have no formal office and am in chaos. Any question we have he has an answer and his supplements work! I know he helps with thyroid issues and I'm sure he works with cancer patients. Google him, and see if he will work over the phone with you. I most certainly will visit your website just haven't had the chance to do so as of yet. Ideally I'd like to find a naturopath somewhat near me but that is not a must. I would prefer a naturopath that can order labs and prescribe if needed. , where are you located? My head is spinning in so many directions right now that I think I really just need to stop and breath a bit. I'm about ready to get rid of my MD too!! Gosh I don't know if you ever felt like this on your journey to great health but...I just feel so frustrated. I feel like I keep running into dead ends. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with stage 1 melanoma. My MD removed the mole in his office. Came back stage 1 melanoma. He sent me to an oncologist who wanted to do surgery ,,,about a 6-7 inch incision as well as doing a........... can't remember the name but it's to check the limp nodes. I didn't do the surgery the oncologist wanted me to do and then possibly do Chemo after the surgery. She tried to scare me and said that her brother died of brain cancer for putting off surgery. ANYHOW..... I still decided against it. A few months went by and I noticed a little spot in the middle of my incision ..like a little clear white pimple... it was there for about 3 days and then disappeared. When I saw it I called my MD to ask him what he thought it could be..after all, he's the one who removed the spot to begin with. He basically said..."If you have any questions about the incision, cancer etc. I will not answer those questions, you need to call the oncologist!!!!!! GREAT.....she'll just try to talk me into the surgery and scare the poooooo out of me. Think not!! Ahhhhhh so here I sit frustrated and I don't know where to turn anymore. My Naturopath who has never sent me in for blood work etc. "FEELS" I don't have cancer any more so wants us to focus more on my thyroid condition!!! I'm sorry but I just don't feel secure in "thinking" after about 1 1/2 years I'm cured and we can just move onto something else!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh OK..right now I think I could use a little energy work!! :-) Think I'll go and do a little Qigong to relax these racing thoughts!! It was a long hard journey that felt like it would never end. Even though my labs are now clear I still pursue my health as if I was fighting something. It is always in the forefront of my mind in how I live. When I don't do the best for my body I feel guilty. I understand wanting someone close. As a practitioner I can say that seeing people makes some things easier too. I struggle with my 2 1/2 hour trip to Dr Brownstein. There are times when I need him and I cannot get to him. (wink) Have to have some humor these days. We were Catholic, thus the name, but my mother went all healthy on us and became a Seventh Day Adventist. Thus, always looking for alternatives to crappy medicine. Lory, I do feel for you. I thought would be able to do both and I was going to try and work with her, even though I am in CA. I do have a doc that does my blood work. I order my thyroid meds from Thailand and it works like the old Armour. It is much cheaper for me too. Even with Medicare. The other thing I do besides Iodine is Low Dose Naltrexone. If you do a search on , you will find quite a few groups. It has been a life saver for me, but it is NOT a stand alone treatment. Thus, I have done the Iodine Protocol with it. It has been a struggle, but I am getting weller. When I first came here, I could hardly comprehend this stuff. It has taken a long time, but getting my adrenals in order has helped me the most. I take Dr. 's Adrenal Rebuilder. And keep track of my temp. I hope this info helps. The good news is, you did find the right one and you're now healthy, healed and helping others! What a wonderful way to be able to "give back" then the gift of helping others! The naturopath I was seeing is also a 2 1/2 hour drive from me. Yes, I agree with you...often when I really needed my naturopath or needed products that he sold..distance made it near to impossible to see him and purchasing products on line verses stopping at the office meant I needed to wait a few days. , I'd love to read your blog. What I do have is stage 1 Melanoma that I am treating totally natural besides the removal of the mole. I was diagnosed in August 2009. I've changed many things over the past couple years.....what I eat, nutritionals and I try to add exercise at least 5 days a week. I HAD a bad habit that I quit when I was diagnosed with cancer.......smoking cigarettes!! I don't miss that at all, I just wish it hadn't taken me getting diagnosed with cancer to quit. I try not to let cancer scare me yet sometimes it does. I keep telling myself that I have way too much to lie for to let something like this get in my way of life!! :-) If there's anything I can do for you....let me know. I live in Maine and googled Maine but didn't find any that specialize in cancer. Distance is not an issue for me if I can find a doctor I believe in.
