Guest guest
I just got a call from my doc's office about results of my lab tests. Because I have the bad kind of LDL - small particles - he wants to put me on Welchol. I just started natural thyroid hormones with hopes of getting off simvastatin (40mg), so I'm bummed. Does anybody have any feedback about how I should deal with this? Thanks, Marge

Guest guest
I'd wait until you have been on NTH for awhile. Hypothyroidism can be a cause of high cholesterol. It should come down on the right medicine. BarbF In a message dated 9/16/2011 7:21:16 P.M. Guest guest
I have been using lugols, 240mgs daily for about six months, my blood pressure and cholesterol have gotten into the normal range, My clolesterol was 220, now it is 180, my HDL has went to 40, better than 35 afore, my blood pressure was 150 over 90, I was on a low dosage of blood pressure meds to also slow my heart rate down, iodine seems to have fixed all three. No meds needed, david lubbock tx. On Sat, Sep 17, 2011 at 5:05 AM, <Bbircie@...> wrote: I'd wait until you have been on NTH for awhile. Hypothyroidism can be a cause of high cholesterol. Guest guest
, At what mg of lugols did you notice a decrease in cholesterol? Does anyone know off hand without me having to search how much mg is in one drop of 7% lugols? Thanks, Kathy T. Guest guest
That's awesome. I'm struggling with high BP and trying to stay off meds and nothing seems to work. I have been on 50 mg. Iodorol for about 3 years now. Perhaps it's time to up the dose. Thanks for the info. BarbF In a message dated 9/19/2011 10:18:18 A.M. Guest guest
Homocysteine is far more important as an indicator than cholesterol. That's what I would be looking at closely. Low cholesterol is dangerous.
