Guest guest
you should go to the low dose naltrexone group.that and no gluten is the best treatment for hashimoto. dr Cowan Citaat: I have used low-dose naltrexone successfully for Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and even Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. In fact, for the first time I can see the way towards successfully treating autoimmune thyroid disease whereas before nothing really worked. Guest guest
Run its course? You need to find a new doctor if that's the advice. You need replacement thyroid hormones (you want whole thyroid like Nature Throid), and you should definitely get on the iodine protocol with all the companion nutrients. The thyroid is the engine of the body's metabolism. Without thyroid, we don't have any health. Hashi's doesn't just cure itself. Weird advice and I'd run away from that doc quickly. -- On 7 Sep 2011 at 18:11, the_snowleopard wrote: > Is this the correct forum to get help and support on how to manage > this disease? Guest guest
Have you read Dr. Brownstein’s book “Iodine, why you need it, why you can’t live without it”? It’s got tons of information on Hashi’s, and how to treat and manage it. Guest guest
They don't want a cure . They want you to burn your thyroid out and then you come back for the rest of your life dependant on them to give you thyroid medication. It's the greatest annuity around. Guest guest
The " plot " just gets more and more crazy-- I really was not aware that the " latest " treatment is no treatment at all. To reiterate-- any doctor advising you to let Hashi's " run its course " is condemning you to lower and lower quality of life and inability to ever gain back your metabolism. You need a different doctor. And you need the iodine protocol. -- On 7 Sep 2011 at 17:57, ladybugsandbees wrote: > > > > They don't want a cure . Guest guest
It is maddening. It makes my blood boil to hear people tell me they have been told "you are not bad enough yet so come back when you are". There is no prevention in modern medicine. It is disease management. Guest guest
This is mainstream medicine's idea of how to treat Hashi's. What they are telling you is to let your thyroid burn out and then they will give you meds. A known cause of Hashi's is iodine deficiency, so I would start there. Also recommended is a gluten free diet and eliminate any soy or soybean oil in your diet. Antibodies can be eliminated by the iodine protocol and adressing these diet changes. Guest guest
This is one of the most annoying and frustration things about allopathic medacine for me. It is like having a fire and you house and the fire department says we won't put the fire out until it gets much worse. I understand your situation and every informed person will " say fire that doctor! " That is correct. But where do you go and if you need to maintain a relationship with a PC for other reasons, how do you do it without beling stigmatized a troublemaker or nut. This is true in smaller towns and areas that don't offer much in alternative medacine. Even in Larger cities where the AMA and teaching hospitols rule. These days many people don't have the resources to go to an informed ND or enlightened MD, if you can find one. Add to that you feel like crap and can't deal with a lot of stress. To those who say " just fire the doctor " there is more to it than just doing that. Dr is correct. It is part of their business plan. The drug companies, the teaching hospitols and endo's are in league. They are no longer " practicing medecine " . They are a business and they wnat you to be a dependant customer. > > > > > Is this the correct forum to get help and support on how to manage > > > this disease? Guest guest
In responce to the specific thrust of your question, jjc; Part of the answer to 'where do you go?' is; right here.Specifically, to the I-net.You research, and educate yourself all you can as to the nature of your disease. You read everything the lamestream medical community says about your disease and its treatment. And, everything the alternative community says. And then, by degrees you take control and authority, AND RESPONSIBILITY for your medical care, yourself. Your hand is the one that puts the pill in your mouth.Recognise and accept that responsibility, instead of putting it on the shoulders of a healthcre practioner, or a group or group mod.In short, whether you are able to find a Dr. you can work with or not, tkae charge of, and responsibility for your own medical care, in order to get the medical care you deserve. At least in the US and England, ther is nothing a Dr. can do for you, that you can't do for yourself.Yes, the ideal is to have a Dr. with whom you can have a good Patient/Dr. relationship. For those who can't find/develop such a relationship, the I-net and a postal address, and an inquiring mind are all you need.Jim > > > > > > > Is this the correct forum to get help and support on how to manage > > > > this disease?
