I thought I'd share this with others who are also interested in DIY Iodine.PLEASE feel free to let me know if my calculations are wrong.I ended up having to go back to 'square one' (figuring out how to make it myself)when I discovered that our government makes sellers ship one bottle at at time.At a cost of approx $5 shipping per ounce .... I needed to re-visit my options...since I wad going to order approx 30 bottles!I found this video on how to make Lugols Iodine on youtube...........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3W8SjmA4qwThen I went to the ebay side recommended by and found the 2 ingredients needed:1) 45g pure elemental iodine crystals selling for 19.95 plus $5.72 S & H (the recipe calls for 44 grams) http://cgi.ebay.com/45g-pure-elemental-iodine-crystals-/280725179392?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item415c864c002) Pure granular ACS grade potassium iodide, 4 0z. $17.95 plus $5.89 (the recipe calls for 88 grams)http://cgi.ebay.com/4oz-114g-potassium-iodide-ACS-grade-/280651699034?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item415825135aThe recipe indicated that you need a QUART jar .... so in the end you will have approx a quart of (more or less) 5 - 7 % Lugols Iodine which

is equal to 32 ounces. The costs for 32 ounces of this strength would be 19.95 and 17.95 PLUS $5.72 and $ 5.89 for Shipping and Handling (unless he combines and discounts)for a maximum total of $49.51 (the seller is in Indiana ... so I don't know, yet, if he adds tax to every state OR only Indiana) divided by 32 ounces ends up costing $1.55 per ounce of 5 - 7 % strength Lugol'sThen there is a page with the different size bottles/prices if you are going to break them up into smaller portions .....http://shop.ebay.com/the_full_orchestra/m.html?_nkw=bottles & _sacat=0 & _odkw=potassium & _osacat=0 & _trksid=p3911.c0.m270.l1313To everyone's health!!!

, thanks a lot for this link

[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3W8SjmA4qw] and the info. Do you (or anyone

else) know what his website URL is? I have listened to that part over and over

and cannot understand what he is saying.

Also, I could not understand what the other supplement he was saying to take

with Iodine. I understood the selenium but what was the other supplement he was

saying to take? Does anyone know? I don't believe it was anything I had ever

herd of.

I am hoping his website will give more information on his instruction for making

the 5-7% Lugol's as I would like to know the iodine mg. content. I imagine

someone more savvy than I would know how to figure it out from the amounts used

to make it. But I am not that savvy.

thanks,

Jeannie
