Guest guest
I have read about some home remedies for some skin conditions and for softening external/internal scars. They call for a mixture of SSKI and castor oil. It is also suppose to help with circulation. Can Lugols be substitued for SSKI? It seems reasonable as it it 94% KI in solultion. If not, my health food store has a tincture bottle of LIQUID IODINE PLUS made by Life-Flo. One drop is 150mcg of KI. Is this considered SSKI or close enough for my purpose? Guest guest
Sorry, forgot to add, the Liquid Iodine Plus you're looking at is not the same thing as SSKI. It is closer to Lugol's, but a lesser strength, and I can't tell the relative proportions of iodine and potassium iodide. SSKI is potassium iodide only, in a supersaturated (the SS in SSKI) form of water solution. > > I have read about some home remedies for some skin conditions and for softening external/internal scars. Guest guest
Magaera, The bottle the Iodine plus is in a 2 oz dark glass bottle with a dropper built into the cap. The only ingredients listed are KI and purified water. 3 drops is 150mcg of KI. Since there is no alcohol present, I assume I can use it and not be as concerned for drying of the skin.
