Guest guest
Absolutely! I put mine in a combination of unsweetened cranberry juice and pomegranate juice, just about a Tablespoon or two of each, a small amount. If the iodine stays brown when it hits the liquid, no conversion is happening. It's very easy to see. Neither the cran or pom juices trigger the conversion. Some people have described using apple juice as well. Any juice that is not high in Vic C will work. I'm sure that grape juice would be fine, for example. And vegetable juice would be just FINE. As long as the Lugol's stays brown when dropped in, there is absolutely no need for concern. It's not mysterious, very straightforward. In the case where veggie juice is dark, and it's hard to see, you really can trust that it's safe anyway because in general veggies don't have massive Vit C amounts. -- On 7 Sep 2011 at 13:25, ladybugsandbees wrote: > > > > You do not need to worry. Guest guest
Doesn't that mean that the iodine has been inactivated? I would think that OJ is high in vitamin C, which inactivates the iodine? I had a similar issue when I used the same glass for Lugol's from which I had just taken my EmergenC. All winter, I juice oranges and I'd love to be able to take Lugols in that. On Thu, Sep 8, 2011 at 4:07 AM, miriam buges <miriambuges90@...> wrote: Hi Kathleen! I use fresh orange juice everyday. Guest guest
When the brown disappears, the iodine is converted chemically to iodide, which Steph just posted cannot be turned back into needed iodine by the body. So, taken in OJ or anything with Vit. C, Lugol's will no longer contain iodine, just iodide.JudyThey that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. Guest guest
So what are the alternatives? - I'm just transitioning today to lugols from iodoral and took it in my green juice (with lemon juice). Guest guest
, I was having such a difficult time " getting it down " that suggested that I get size 00 capsules, available at health food stores or online, and put the Lugol's in there. Each capsule holds ~25 mg. Guest guest
The color disappearing is the evidence that the brown elemental iodiNe is being converted to the clear potassium iodiDe. This is not the preference. So if you are only ever taking Lugol's in the orange juice, I advise you to stop. If you take part of your Lugol's in orange juice and part in something else (at another time) that doesn't convert it, that would probably be fine because you'll be getting a portion of your iodine supplement in the elemental brown iodiNe form, as you need to be doing. -- > Hi Kathleen! > I use fresh orange juice everyday. Guest guest
, I don't know what you're referring to since you didn't leave any discussion in this email. I said that vegetable juice is fine. If there is some lemon juice in it, I think it's likely that it is so diluted that it wouldn't be affected. I already posted the way I take it in juice. You can also put it in an empty gelcap if you prefer. -- On 8 Sep 2011 at 16:27, Wolstenholme wrote: > > > > So what are the alternatives? - I'm just transitioning today to lugols > from iodoral and took it in my green juice (with lemon juice). Guest guest
Hi !First thing in the morning I drink 2 glasses of water with lemon juice, 15 min after I drink vegetable juice (carrot, celery and parsley). After 2 hours I have my breakfastand, this the moment when I have the orange juice with the lugol. So, do you think I can change to put the lugol in the vegetable juice, no problem with the lemon juice I had15 min.before, or better I have the lugol after breakfast, not to have problem at all.Thank you very much for your time.Miriam From: Baker <vbaker@...>iodine Sent: Friday, 9 September 2011 10:28 AMSubject: Re: Iodine With Vegetable Juice The color disappearing is the evidence that the brown elemental iodiNe is being converted to the clear potassium iodiDe. Guest guest
To keep the answer simple, I think the vegetable juice will dilute the things in your stomach sufficiently that it's fine to take it with your veg juice. -- > Hi ! > First thing in the morning I drink 2 glasses of water with lemon > juice, 15 min after I drink vegetable juice (carrot, celery and > parsley). Guest guest
Thanks so much for this idea - I have organic beet root juice and an organic veggie juice that I mix and drink daily, and I've started putting my Lugol drops in there the last few days, and can't tell anything by taste at all. Love this idea! Have also been salting most of my foods with the Celtic sea salt, it's very tasty and I am getting lots of it, daily.I'm still separating my intake of Vit C and any minerals, like the magnesium, I don't know for sure of course, but this guy does make sense to me, with his theory that the Vit C is more detoxifying in it's abscoric form, since the toxic minerals in the body will bind to it and are carried out of the body with it. Whereas, the beneficial minerals, that we want to keep in the body, would also be swept out, if taken at the same time. This is the article that convinced me, and btw. my daughter had huge problems with anxiety attacks, very puzzling attacks, that came on like stroke or heart attack symptoms, and after many ER visits and expensive tests, turned out to be Hypoglycemia! She has not had one attack since she has been following this Dr. Bate's regimen, and while I don't like all his theories, there is always something to be learned from just about anyone! http://www.drbate.com/content/chelation.shtmlLet me know what you think, I don't find it a hardship to take the Vit C at times other than the minerals, so for now, I'm playing it safe, as in who knows for sure ... I really love this list, and read each and every post, very thankful for all of you!BarbOn Sat, Sep 10, 2011 at 5:22 AM, miriam buges <miriambuges90@...> wrote: Hi victoria...Thank you very much for your input.
