Guest guest
The iodine isn't the contrast, there is dye that is injected with the iodine. The iodine isn't a problem for folks, but the dyes can be - some are allergic to the dyes and get very sick.On Sep 10, 2011, at 12:46 AM, wrote: Hi, Yesterday I had to go to ER (I almost lost my consciousness for the second time in 2 days) I asked for an MRI for the brain (because of severe headaches) and the doctor refused and he asked me to do a CT scan (without the contrast injection). They didn't find me anything in the brain and have to do an MRI on Monday. As I take iodine and I wonder if they can have an accurate image of my brain. Can iodine that we take change the color and visibility of CT san /MRI image? I'm confused because I know that in radiology the use contrast substance like iodine and I don't understand how it works when wee take iodine too. Notice: I didn't have the contrast injection. Thank you very much for explaining me,

Guest guest
Thank you Kathy, But my question was if I take iodine can the doctors see correctly my brain on MRI/CT Scan? Because I have iodine in my body. > > > I'm sorry as I don't post much. Guest guest
Hi , My daughter(13) has just had a MRI scan with the Gadolinium contrast. She is on 50mg Iodoral a day and has been for 9 months or so. I have a cd of the scan pictures and they look fine - all seems to be shown up well - though I don't like what is showing up. I am waiting for the report as hopefully it is all perfectly normal. Hope that helps. > > > > > > I'm sorry as I don't post much. Guest guest
Thank you, , but my question was : the Iodoral that I take every day and which is in my body can change the MRI/CT Scan images and if the iodine can change those images the doctors could not see if I have an aneurism or haematoma etc. Do you see what I mean? I'm afraid that the iodine that I have in my body hides a possible problem in my brain, body and doctors will not be able to read correctly my CT Scan and MRI. Tomorrow I'll have an MRI; should I stop iodoral? > > > > > > I'm sorry as I don't post much. Guest guest
, My doctor doesn't have a clue about iodine intake. I took Iodoral from March to July then I stopped it and I restarted 2 days ago with 8 mg/day. Do you think that the radiologist will know? Doctors use iodine contrast injection for CT Scan; so I thought that taking Iodoral/Lugol could give better images for CT Scan? thank you, > > > > Thank you, , > > but my question was : the Iodoral that I take every day and which is in my body can change the MRI/CT Scan images and if the iodine can change those images the doctors could not see if I have an aneurism or haematoma etc. > > Do you see what I mean?
