Thanks a lot Kathleen, I just needed some reassurance. So your 17 lb. dog would get the FULL DROP of Iodine each day? I was thinking about dumping the remainder out each day and re-filling the 8 oz. and then a second drop for the following day. I'm just not sure.

Hi Bonnie,

We have a 17lb dog and I put about that much in his water daily. Remember, the body gets rid of what it doesn’t need in humans, so I imagine it is the same with animals. I am not an expert, but I would think what you have done is fine. Best, Kathleen

I put one drop of 5% Lugols in 8 oz. of water for two tiny dogs (6 lb. & 10 lb.) and they will drink this amount in 2 days.

Is this too much? I'm a bit afraid of overdosing.

I would feel a lot better if someone would let me know?

Yes, Bonnie. If you are worried, why not give them a drop every other day? But yes, and I have been giving our dog 1 drop a day for many years and he is frisky and fine. It's up to you, do what you think is best. Kathleen

Unless your dog is drinking every last bit of the water, he's not getting the

full amount

anyway. I put my animal's drop each day in their food.
