Guest guest
Back to hair loss: I am still noticing quite a bit coming out. Here is what I have done so far. I took 3 days off of all supplements and then added most back in. I eliminated anything that had Vitamin A in it, because I thought perhaps all of the butter/cod liver oil, multi, chlorella, spirulina, and a standard process product Rxed by my naturopath were causing it. I then found out that too much selenium can cause hair loss too, so I threw away the brazil nuts (I was only eating one a day) and I haven't taken any supplemental selenium in the last couple of days, but I may add back 100mcg. I then started to think that I have read somewhere that iodine in " large " quantities (larger than the RDA can cause hypothyroidism (hair loss). I know that there is misinformation out there, but could there be any truth in this? Or could it be a just getting over the hump kind of thing? I have added 50mg of iodine back in? Any thoughts on should I go lower or higher? Searching for truth, Deidre > > I just left from getting my hair cut. My stylist saw a large bald spot in the back of my head. She said, what happened here? The only thing that has changed for me is the addition of Iodine, so I am assuming that this is a detox symptom or the iodine is messing with my hormones etc. My question is, what is the best way to reverse this and prevent more? Pulse dosing, lowering my dose? I take all of the companion nutrients. PLEASE HELP!! UGH! > > Thanks, > > Deidre >
Guest guest
I may have meant does Iodine in " large " doses cause HYPERthyroidism instead of HYPO - short term - leading to hair loss? Guest guest
Iodine does not cause hypEr or hypO thyroidism. That is a medical myth. I believe that the potential causes for hair loss in relation to iodine have been covered in the responses to this inquiry, and it's not because iodine is causing hypErthyroidism. -- On 7 Sep 2011 at 13:31, harringd932 wrote: > I may have meant does Iodine in " large " doses cause HYPERthyroidism > instead of HYPO - short term - leading to hair loss? > > Deidre > > > > > > I just left from getting my hair cut. Guest guest
iodine was first used to treat HYPERthyroidism, so not to worry. there is info at http://www.optimox.com Gracia Iodine does not cause hypEr or hypO thyroidism. That is a medical myth. I believe that the potential causes for hair loss in relation to iodine have been covered in the responses to this inquiry, and it's not because iodine is causing hypErthyroidism.-- On 7 Sep 2011 at 13:31, harringd932 wrote:> I may have meant does Iodine in "large" doses cause HYPERthyroidism> instead of HYPO - short term - leading to hair loss?> > Deidre> >
