Hi everybody. There has been quite a bit of talk about products and sources lately so I thought I would share what I found.I went into the Vitamin Shoppe and asked for iodine . They showed me Potassium Iodide by Vitality Works. It has the same composition of lugols. It only costs $6.95. The problem is you have to sit down with pencil and paper to figure out the dosage. They tell you that you need 7 millileters for emergency purposes. And in that 7 milliliters there are 24mg iodine and 32mg potassium iodide. So you really need a pencil, paper and a conversion chart.

It turns out you need two drops a dosage. Is this product familiar to ya'll? It is the only one I have tryed and I have been extremely happy with it. When I told my doctor I had started it he was very pleased and told me not to stop because he could see the difference in me clearly. This product is online as well for for $6.99 I don't know about shipping.chrisFrom: Donna Iler <Donna@...>"iodine " <iodine >Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2011 7:46 AMSubject: RE: Re: chemical grades for Lugol's

Baxrox,At some point, you have to have faith in what someone says. Just because anyone says they have the proof you want doesn’t mean it really is true. I think your best bet is to buy your own mine and mine the iodine yourself. That is the only way to truly know the purity/grade/ etc.

As for me, I am having great health success with the products I buy from these people, so I think that is proof enough. If it were unfit for human consumption , not the right stuff, not pure, etc., we would not be experiencing returned health, would be sick from contamination, etc. Donna in IL I couldn't agree more

Jaxi. As I read the post below I am thinking "Why is it our responsibility to prove to YOU that it is safe". Baxrox if you are that concerned then either contact the seller yourself or don't buy it. It's that simple. We are not here to certify the safety of products online. We give options as a service (FOR FREE I MIGHT ADD) to help others who want it. You are taking this a bit too far. Buist, ND HCOwner / Iodine group Re: Re: chemical grades for Lugol's If you are determined to not trust anyone then you can choose to do that. They could provide you with everything you want and I think you would still not trust or believe them. You seem to be determined to believe the worst and that everyone is lying. Well your brand name folks have just as high a risk of lying about their product as anyone else, as has come out in the news time and time again. Brand name is not a guarantee of purity either. Jaxi

Medisca is a USP grade Lugol's ~ a quality product. If you get a large bottle

(500 ml) be sure to transfer a small amount to a 1 oz bottle and use your daily

dose from that. Iodine evaporates fairly easily so the less it is exposed to

air or sunlight the better.

> I got the Vitality Works Brand when I was in Florida and each dropper full is

1 ml. and it is marked on the dropper so I needed to take 7 full droppers  to

get to the 50mg mark.  The product works but becomes costly when purchased in

2oz. bottles.  I got mine on line from JCrowe and since then I discovered that I

could order 5% solution from Zellers in Canada for less.  It is the Medisca

Brand. I haven't gotten it yet as I have lots of the JCrowe left.  I am hoping

that the Mdisca Brand works as well for us.
