Iodine Spot & Load Results---Now What ? Please advise.--Thanks.

Hi everyone:

I have a suspecious nodule on my thryoid that is quite large and a fluid filled

cyst on my left side. As an alternative to surgery at the this time I wanted to

learn more about iodine so I went ahead and had my spot and load test conducted.

This is the results

Here are my results:

Iodine

Spot: 0.124 mg/L (range 0.1-0.45 mg/L)

24 hour excretion: 37.4 mg (range 0-50mg/24 hr)

% excretion/24 hr: 75%

Bromide

Spot: 2.51 mg/L (range <5 mg/L)

24 hour excretion: 5.62 mg (range <5mg/24 hr)

Fluoride

Spot: 0.76 mg/L (range 1.0 mg/L)

24 hour excretion: 1.91 mg (range <1.3 mg/24 hr)

I am meeting with a doctor on Monday who is an iodine practioner. What

questions should I be asking when I meet with him?
