Guest guest
I do the B12/folic with DMSO. But I also don't get my numbers tested so I guess I cannot tell you for fact how well it works, just that I " feel " it does. DMSO is fine - just use appropriate precautions. I typically do it on a weekend after bathing. Guest guest
I believe Swanson's has an aerosol you spray up in your nose, I'm thinking about doing it this way as well. It's difficult apparently for B12 to be absorbed when you take it orally.Ariel On Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 12:41 PM, goingtolunch <goingtolunch@...> wrote: Since my b12 level has remained low despite oral supplements, I am researching a better delivery method & saw several recommendations that I'd like feedback on: 1 transdermal: dissolving B12 (w/folic acid) in DMSO and putting it on the skin (especially places like under the arms) -- done with mega doses just 1-2X per month (I think I would rather do it weekly with a smaller dose) -- it sounds like DMSO can be problematic though 2 under arms - dissolving the B12 in water and putting it under the arms (I'm guessing bedtime -- just after a bath -- would be best) 3 intranasal: either dissolving the B12 in water or just putting the powdered B12 into the nose (near the tip of the nose) 4 on the upper gums: putting the dissolved B12 there & rubbing it into the gums/inner cheek (sounds like a good idea) 5 genitalia: putting dissolved B12 on the urethra (sounds really strange) 6 rectal suppository & vaginal pessary: both sound really strange Since I have trouble absorbing a lot of vitamins, I'm wondering if I should try taking other Bs or other vitamins by dissolving them & either rubbing them on my gums or my armpits. Guest guest
There is a distinction between products that are strictly oral (pills & capsules) & products that are absorbed through the mucous membranes of the mouth. Many preparations are sublingual tablets that you dissolve under your tongue to release the vitamin into the mucous membranes.Revitapops are a sucker which releases methyl b-12 into the mucous membranes as you suck on it. (For some people, it works as well as shots, reportedly, but not for others.)There are also liposomal preparations that are sprayed into the mouth & absorbed by the mucous membranes. The liposomal technology supposedly enhances absorption.DMSO is controversial, but there are books written on it so you can get more information & decide for yourself. For me, the downside of DMSO is that it leaves a taste in your mouth which I find very unpleasant. We all know that the skin can absorb magnesium & other substances. But if it were that easy -- just to put B-12 on your skin -- I think we would have heard of people doing it... Then again, B-12 is bright red, so maybe it is an issue of staining?I know that some medications are dissolved in emu oil to be applied on the skin... Good luck.AnneOn Aug 10, 2011, at 10:55 AM, Ariel Monserrat wrote: I believe Swanson's has an aerosol you spray up in your nose, I'm thinking about doing it this way as well. Guest guest
Nasal sprays/gels are out for me -- they contain citric acid & I am not allowed any acids or anything citrus due to gastritis. That also elimates most liquid suspensions/drops that are sold as most contain some preservative that I do not tolerate (artificial or natural). That's why I am trying to find another way -- like those I listed. My concern with the DMSO is that it carries other things into the body (per what I've read) so I am hesitant to use it. > > > ** > > > > > > Since my b12 level has remained low despite oral supplements, I am > > researching a better delivery method & saw several recommendations that I'd > > like feedback on: > > > > 1 transdermal: dissolving B12 (w/folic acid) in DMSO and putting it on the > > skin (especially places like under the arms) -- done with mega doses just > > 1-2X per month (I think I would rather do it weekly with a smaller dose) -- > > it sounds like DMSO can be problematic though > > > > 2 under arms - dissolving the B12 in water and putting it under the arms > > (I'm guessing bedtime -- just after a bath -- would be best) > > > > 3 intranasal: either dissolving the B12 in water or just putting the > > powdered B12 into the nose (near the tip of the nose) > > > > 4 on the upper gums: putting the dissolved B12 there & rubbing it into the > > gums/inner cheek (sounds like a good idea) > > > > 5 genitalia: putting dissolved B12 on the urethra (sounds really strange) > > > > 6 rectal suppository & vaginal pessary: both sound really strange > > > > Since I have trouble absorbing a lot of vitamins, I'm wondering if I should > > try taking other Bs or other vitamins by dissolving them & either rubbing > > them on my gums or my armpits. Guest guest
I don't see sublingual (under the tongue) listed, perhaps you tried that already? The others listed are via the skin while the sublingual gets right into the bloodstream via the veins under the tongue as I understand it. Someone else might have more info on that. The gums method sounds close but again, it's the veins under the tongue that I believe are taking the B-12 (and other substances you dissolve there) directly. I do this sublingual method with my thyroid hormone. I like it because it's easy and I don't have to think about eating/not eating within a certain timeframe. Guest guest
Margaret, thank you for these resources; however, it sounds like they aren't in the U.S., I may be wrong. I say this because they said that shipping to U.S. is easy. It is illegal in both the U.S. and Canada to buy B12 shots without a prescription. I have checked into this thoroughly and it's illegal, as in injectable vitamin C any more. If you buy from a place that needs no prescription it is still illegal in U.S. without a prescription and you cango to prison, just thought you should know this. I'm absolutely sure of this because the Canadian pharmacy even sent us a notice about this telling us we'd need a prescription. Also, I'm not sure you can buy itwith any company without needing a prescription and my experience is that they don't tell yiou that until after you've already put in your credit card # etc. ArielOn Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 6:24 PM, margretdzn <margretdzn@...> wrote: I googled, found these right off, I just ran out so will pick one and order next week....when you google, you have to put in Cyanocobalamin, 1000 mcg, and a good size to buy is 30 ML---why pay shipping for smaller sizes more often..... http://www.b12-shot.com/http://www.mooremedical.com/index.cfm?PG=CTL & FN=ProductDetail & PID=5850 http://www.trumedcanada.com/otc-step1.aspxhttp://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=10630 & cmpid=05csegb & ref=3312 & subref=AA & CAWELAID=552563603 Blessings, Margaret> > > > > > > > > > Since my b12 level has remained low despite oral supplements, I am> > > > researching a better delivery method & saw several recommendations that> > I'd> > > > like feedback on: > > > > >> > > > > 1 transdermal: dissolving B12 (w/folic acid) in DMSO and putting it> > on> > > > the skin (especially places like under the arms) -- done with mega > > doses> > > > just 1-2X per month (I think I would rather do it weekly with a smaller> > > > dose) -- it sounds like DMSO can be problematic though> > > > >> > > > > 2 under arms - dissolving the B12 in water and putting it under the > > arms> > > > (I'm guessing bedtime -- just after a bath -- would be best)> > > > >> > > > > 3 intranasal: either dissolving the B12 in water or just putting the > > > > powdered B12 into the nose (near the tip of the nose)> > > > >> > > > > 4 on the upper gums: putting the dissolved B12 there & rubbing it> > into > > > > the gums/inner cheek (sounds like a good idea)> > > > >> > > > > 5 genitalia: putting dissolved B12 on the urethra (sounds really> > strange)> > > > > > > > > > 6 rectal suppository & vaginal pessary: both sound really strange> > > > >> > > > > Since I have trouble absorbing a lot of vitamins, I'm wondering if I > > > > should try taking other Bs or other vitamins by dissolving them & > > either> > > > rubbing them on my gums or my armpits. Guest guest
Another great product that aids in carrying things deeper into the body is DMSO. It has helped me alot to absorb my handful of supplements I take. Go to DMSO.COM or .ORG. I forget which one it is but it is Stanley 's site and he sells the best brand. You won't find it many other places at his quality. DMSO made poorly will make you stink. So get his DMSO.From: Ariel Monserrat <wolvenwood@...> because they have been outlawed except by prescription - about a year or 9 months ago. Guest guest
Dr Myhill who treats chronic fatigue patients in the UK advises that patients rub the B12 into the skin. I can't quite remember but I think it is mixed with coconut oil first. Also there is of course the B12 patches that are little plasters that go behind the ear over a 24 hour period and deliver a big dose equivalent to a shot. love janet

Guest guest
A primary care physician but some will want you to go to their office for the injection after you pick up the B12 vial from the pharmacy. It is also an IM injection. It has to be injected into an arm muscle using a syringe bigger than a diabetic needle. Your body won't absorb it properly if you just inject it SC.
