Guest guest
Hi All, I would appreciate a bit of help from those in the know. I have been taking 50mcg Levothyroxin for three weeks and 5 days ago did the Genova saliva test to see if my adrenals were ok. Results seem to indicate that cortisol levels are ok :- Sample 1 = 21.6 (12-22) Sample 2 = 5.6 (5-9) Sample 3 = 4.1 (3-7) Sample 4 = 1.8 (1-3) But DHEA levels are :- Sample 2 = 0.07 (0.10 - 0.50) which they say is low Sample 3 = 0.09 (0.4 - 2.0) which they say is low Analysis says : " Resistance Stage 3 - Maladaptation: This reflects the `pre-exhaustion or pre-adrenal fatigue` state. Usually DHEA levels fall before cortisol levels are reduced. This is often as a result of an inability to balance chronic stressors or poor adaptation to intensive acute stressors. This pattern would indicate a state of long term stressors depleting adrenal reserves. Stress analysis and adrenal support and resorative measures are exceedingly important. Recheck in 1 month. I have read Dr. Peatfield`s advice on Adrenal fatigue and he says Nutri Ltd do an Adrenal Glandular Concentrate and I am thinking of trying it. Do you think this would help raise my DHEA levels and support my adrenal glands? I don`t know enough about this DHEA and why its so low. I`m also thinking that my adrenals aren`t too bad as the cortisol levels are inside the range. Am I correct? Can someone explain in laymans language what`s going on for me? I won`t be back on line for some hours (more flippin` family traumas to deal with !!) Jane
