Guest guest
Yesss! A fellow bagel-lover! I just had the laparoscopic myotomy done and one wee after surgery, I was eating bagels again - something I haven't done in 4 years! I'm making up for lost time now. I had 2 balloon dilatations done in '96, one in Feb., another in April. Reason for 2nd one is that the balloon used for first procedure was too small (talk about feeling like Goldilocks). Second procedure was only moderately successful for me and I basically learned to " manage " the disease by eliminating certain foods from my diet, etc. What I would like to do with the newsletter is share our experiences and I'm in the process of coming up with a list of who-has-had-what-procedure. I'll try to go through that in the next day or two and find some e-mail addresses of people you could contact whose balloon dilatations seemed to be more successful. Glad to hear you're doing well so far, except for the gas pains. Have you contacted your doctor about those yet? Are you taking any OTC pain or gas-relief products to ease them (I'm thinking Gas-X)? Keep in touch! Carol Newsletter > Hi Carol, > Good idea about the newsletter. I would like to hear from people who > have been successful with dilation. Guest guest
Hi! Hope you're continuing to do well! I wanted to pass on this information about an achalasia website. I know we've all been eager for one. Check out www.donn.lbl.gov/achalasia. The site is privately managed and maintained and has a wealth of quality information. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing it. I'm still planning on doing a newsletter, perhaps in conjunction with this site. Take care! HA!! I'm lucky if I make the bi-monthly deadlines anymore. The last two years have been hard on me as I work out what to do for Andy. It's supposed to come out every other month. Since it's free, I figure folks can't complain too loud about hte lousy customer service! Gotta beat my staff into shape (that would be ...). THanks, . I hope you find something useful. j

Guest guest
Dear Member I am putting some information together to create our next Newsletter and wondered whether any of you have specific questions you need to ask. These should be kept short and to the point and answers would be short and to the point (hopefully!). If you know some good thyroid jokes you could share with us, these would be great too, or if you have any other ideas about what you would like to see in the newsletter, just let me know [sheila@...]. There is no deadline, but I would like them as soon as possible please as the newsletter is long overdue. Luv - Sheila
Guest guest
There's been a lot of talk on here about RT3 and thyroid resistance lately, could we get some more information on that? it is an interesting topic and i haven't really been able to findout much info on it. i am confused as to whether it's a cause of problems (or can be a cause) or is it just a symptom? thanks chris > > Dear Member > > I am putting some information together to create our next Newsletter and > wondered whether any of you have specific questions you need to ask. Guest guest
Thanks - this is a fact, and yes, a lot of us wonder about reverse T3 and find it difficult to get our head around it. I do have information about this and will put it into the newsletter.
