Guest guest
A really good source of bioavailable iodine is dulse, a seaweed. It tastes delicious and is inexpensive. One book I read said to take 2 teaspoons of dulse flakes a day to boost an underactive thyroid (if it is caused by low iodine levels) > Evening Aubug, > > > > Jim, should there be a radioactive fallout, one should not forget the > > importance of taking a large dose of iodine, so that the thyroid would be > > protected from soaking up the radiation. > > What source of Iodine should we use? Guest guest
Dear and MauiZoe, I've had great results from taking Lugol's since last Fall, although the two (separate) days of detox -- when I got enthusiastic and used too much -- weren't fun. Salt loading got me through. My energy has returned to where it was 15-20 years ago (I'm 57). Brain fog is gone. (I've also changed my diet to consist of only 1.raw plant material, 2.good oils, 3.raw or cooked good-quality animal protein.) In fact, I've been dealing with other aspects of life and have not kept up with the Iodine List messages. My 4 oz. bottle is nearly empty, and I tried to re-order from the eBay source recommended in a long-ago post: Hi Viola, I do not know if that is the correct Lugol's solution but here is > a link to an ebay seller some of us use and are happy with the product. > http://cgi.ebay.com/Lugols-solution-4-fl-oz-2-2-iodine-/320494213873?pt=LH_Defau\ ltDomain_0 & hash=item4a9ef19af1 but the Buy-It-Now button is gone, and the owner did not respond to my email. Today, in searching the Iodine Group Links for iodine sources, I've become confused again about the best kind to use, especially from MauiZoe's post about stomach trouble from Lugol's. Is the latest consensus to use Iodoral? Or is there a good source for Cayce-type iodine? I was using HUGE amounts of Lugol's on my skin (after detoxing from a lifetime of chlorine), and the skin of the palm of my hand (where I would drop it first) became stained and hard, although it eventually peeled off and now is totally normal again. As well as take it internally, I do want to continue using iodine on my skin. Is there a way to dissolve Iodoral for that? I've been trying to order more iodine for several days now. Please help. I realize that I've asked a lot of questions. Thanks!! Kahana on Hawai'i Island
