Hi All,

I started taking iodine after doing some web research and finding out that there

is a connection with lack of iodine and low stomach acid, or achlorhydria (or

hypochlorhydria, a lesser condition). I would like to know if anyone out there

is battling those symptoms with iodine.

Flechas says in a talk I saw on the web that low iodine levels leads to this

problem in the stomach, but the vast majority of people taking iodine apparently

do it for breast disease or thyroid problems; unfortunately I have only a couple

of good articles that make the stomach connection, and he only makes this one

tantalizing mention in his talk without elaborating.

Is anyone else making this connection and fighting low stomach acid with HCl,

but finding that the real cause might be iodine deficiency? I found that I

could pretty much go off the HCl if I took Niacin with the Iodine protocol

recommended by Brownstein. But I'm not out of the woods by a long shot.

My adult acne got much better with iodine, but if I drink city water I

immediately get a detox reaction--bromism, or just a cooincidence?

Anybody?
