Guest guest
Dear eFORUM Members, I run a small non-profit that helps orphans and street children around the world. We have ten partners in Uganda, Kenya, Thailand and Vietnam who run the gamut from micro-grant programs for guardians of orphans to homes for former street children, child sponsorship programs, and a medical mission in the heart of the Nairobi slums. We tend to focus on smaller programs that would fall below the scope of the UNICEFs and World Vision's of the world, but which are run from the heart and where a little money will make a big difference in the lives of the children. Once we've identified a program that is doing wonderful work with orphans or street children, we try to raise funding for whichever projects they need most. There are no promises, but we raised between $500 and $5,000 for most of our partners last year. You can check out our current partners at our web site, http://www.allforyouth.org. We plan to expand into India this October. Can anyone recommend some Indian organizations doing wonderful work helping orphans and/or street children where a small amount of money would make a dramatic difference in the lives of the children they are caring for? Our preliminary plans are to focus on the states of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. However, if we can get a $500 Air India pass that allows us to fly anywhere in India for two weeks, we will probably visit some other areas. Thank you for your help!
