Guest guest
All the time, eg, i saw a big woman with the buffalo hump sign on her (cushings) - probably just told she was too fat, stop eating. However, no one listens, so i never say anything. they do think you're just a weirdo or pretending to be a dr, or whatever else it might be. " When the student is ready, the teacher will appear " ...when they are ready to look for knowledge, they'll find it. I think people are more open minded to stories they can relate to - eg, they read about someone in the paper with a health problem, and they may question that then as it matches their problems. I think story telling is used in some therapies to get through to the subconscious brain. I have given up on trying to help people who've not asked for help (my mother, for instance). > > I've noticed ive started to notice people who may have thyroid or related problems but are non the wiser them selves just plodding along each day. >
Guest guest
Yes, I notice that. I used to say something but for most people until a doctor says that they are ill they don't take any notice. MacG. I've noticed ive started to notice people who may have thyroid or related problems but are non the wiser them selves just plodding along each day.If i were to say something to them they may think im a wierdo lol but i hate seeing people suffer when they maybe just need to get things in check ?For instance,Lady in my work always complaining of being cold, always on a "diet" to stop ger gaining weight. (possible low iron, low thyroid ?)I have a friend who is really pale and also complaining of being cold when others are normal (low iron low thyroid ?)Another person in my work, very large in struggles to wake up in mornings (thyroid/adrenals)Sister gains weight easy , stomach problems, always cold (low thyroid ?)Am i looking into things too much, or does anybody else notice these things ?Steve
Guest guest
Yeh i have noticed this once or twice in the past, its sad but its seems how most people are. I wish that somebody had offered me advice in the past regarding waking up in the mornings, as i used to have terrible trouble getting up in the mornings (on saturday after i had been school all week, i used to sleep in till saturday afternoon to " catch " up on my sleep, were as all my friends would be awake 9-10am If i had known or somebody had given me a bit of advice that about tyroid/adrenals and now how much easier it is for me to get up in the mornings. I can see were some people come from thought when you dont know much about a certain thing you tend to just get on with things. For instance like 3-4 years ago somebody mentioned to me about adrenals and they said you would get stressed easily or not be able to deal with stress well if your adrenals were not producing enough cortisol, and because i dealt with stress quite well a the time i automatically dismissed adrenal problems without actually looking into it and researching. Guest guest
Oh Steve - welcome to the world of being a 'thyroid watcher' - my husband and I do it all the time - from the supermarket queue to identifying people on TV. It is actually quite easy.........pity the Drs don't find it so,...............and do you know Steve I was in a meeting the other day - a meeting of about 8 people and there were 5 of them that in my opinion were 'thyroiders'. best wishes Mandy PS Notice the red marks on the front of the chest.......that's another give away - which means low cortisol. Guest guest
Hi Mandy, I didn't know this was a symptom of low cortisol, I was getting a red blotchyish rash sort of thing on my chest in the afternoons. Not an allergy as im not allergic to anything at my desk. Often it makes my face flushed too, do you think that's the same thing? Thanks, Jess > > PS Notice the red marks on the front of the chest.......that's another give > away - which means low cortisol. >
Guest guest
Hi Jess, I suddenly got this red front when I got ill and I can tell how well I am by this red patch. It really annoys me because for years I protected this area from the sun so I didn't get a crepey look when I got older - little did I know what was coming around the corner - thyroid/adrenal issues - teach me for being so vain,. I can't quite isolate whether it is low cortisol or thyroid - I believe it is cortisol as it seems to get worse if I am a bit stressed out and run down. It never seems to go. I have noticed how many thyroid patients seems to have this.......................... best wishes Mandy
Guest guest
Mandy, does it happen to be a white patch with a red spot inside it ? It may be something totally different, but recently i began to get white spots (which look like sun damage) on my arms, but with a red spot inside. After researching this it seems its fungus of the skin, and the white patches are because the fungus does not tan like the rest of the skin. Guest guest
Hi Steve, yes you are not the only one, sometimes i too notice things. a lady i work with also seems a candidate for being hypo. she informed me see had preelampsia while pregnant a few years ago now, so i am thinking should i tell her what the cause was and to look out for further problems in the future. i have not said anything as i don`t think i will be listened to. but it makes you think how many more we can see who has hypo/hyper problems. 40% of us, but we will have some of the same symptoms but others will have different one`s so not easy to spot. we lady`s seem to be able to pick up on these things, call it intuition. Guest guest
HI Steve, No it is a large block of red on the Décolletage at first I thought it was sunburn but it isn't - it never goes - and gets worse if I am under stress or not well - I use it as an indicator of how well I am. Look at people while you are out and about and you will see it and it will be on a thyroid patient. best Mandy
