They have also said in the past that watercress wards off cancer. I have always liked watercress as long as it is not the very hot type. I always wash it before eating it so it should not have parasites in it. It also depends on where watercress is grown, as to having parasites in it. Watercress is also grown in fresh water, and some areas may well have more iodine and even fluoride in their water supplies either added or natural than other areas.
