Guest guest
You 'chat' to the group through writing messages and other members will write back their response. The CHAT facility on this forum that you find in the Menu on the Home Page is rarely used as you need to make an 'appointment' with whoevever wants to CHAT with you, so you need to agree this with somebody and choose a good time that suits you both (all). Any questions you have got, just ask away …and welcome to our forum where I am sure you will get all the help and support you need. Luv - Sheila What chat are you speaking of? This first book on the list talks greatly about Hashi's....just click on it and it will take you to the reader. This may answer some of your questions and it's good to have a link to save to your computer for the future. http://thinkthyroid.blogspot.com/2011/09/thyroid-books-to-read-online.html Cheers, JOT > Hveryone Im new to this web site, I wondered if anyone else has hashimoto thyroid problem and what they are taking? Ive tried to access chat but not sure how to go about it can anyone advise me on how to chat with this group?
Guest guest
Hi , we have information on our own TPA forum here in the FILES SECTION accessible from the Home Page Menu, thyroid treatment as well as the information in our web site. All our FOLDERS in this FILES section are listed alphabetically and easy to access. Luv - Sheila Hi , I have Hashimoto's disease. I have managed to get my anti-bodies down with a mixture of a gluten free diet and the Iodine Protocol (www.optimox.com go to the iodine research page). I take T3 and have done T3 therapy to get rid of my RT3. You can find out how to take care of your adrenals on www.stopthethyroidmadness.com. Sheila has also compiled a mass of information on the TPA UK web site that you can have a look at. If you belong to this group I believe you can get a 10% discount on private testing at Genova Diagnostics in New Malden. Guest guest
The majority of sufferers of the symptoms of hypothyroidism have thyroid antibodies (Hashimoto's disease). Hashimoto's is a CAUSE of hypothyroidism but the treatment for all forms (whatever the cause) are the same as any other cause. I will send you a list of our recommended doctors privately. We often find that fibromyalgia is caused because the thyroxine (the mainly inactive hormone) is not converting to the active thyroid hormone T3. It is T3 every cell in your body and brain needs to make them function. Once you get on the right therapy, the fibromyalgia should disappear, as it did with me and as it has done for many of our members. Have you asked your GP to test your thyroid function? Also ask your GP to test your levels of iron, transferrin saturation%, vitamin D3, vitamin B12, folate, magnesium, copper and zinc. Once you get these results, post them on the forum together with the reference range for each of the tests done. If you want these tests done privately, go to our FILES section (accessible from the Home Page of this forum) thyroid treatment and on the page that opens, scroll down to 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements' and then open the file entitled 'Genova Diagnostics Ltd. and you can see the different tests there with the discounted prices for TPA members. In that folder, you should also check out the Nutri Ltd document where you can get 33% discounts on all their supplements. Diet wise, for Hashimoto's, it is recommended you go on a gluten free diet because antibodies thrive on gluten. Cut off this source, and the antibodies should decrease. Any problems, just shout 1 (need to identify you because we have a couple of other 's) Luv - Sheila Hveryone Im new to this web site, I wondered if anyone else has hashimoto thyroid problem and what they are taking? Guest guest
Apologies for joining in someone else’s discussion – but I have seen it mentioned a few times that a gluten-free diet can help when someone has antibodies for Hashimoto’s; could the gluten-free diet also be of help if a person has antibodies for hyperthyroidism e.g. as in Graves Disease? Many thanks. Guest guest
Yes, gluten free diet should help. Antibodies apparently THRIVE on gluten whatever the antibody is, so it would be a good idea to give it a go Hazel.
