Guest guest
Hello, I have lots of water retention. Can someone please recommend me something for it? I bought some over the counter herb pills but I swear they made the problem even worse. Thank you very much. Vivien

Guest guest
Hi I don't know if I get enough potassium from my diet, but I had a look at my latest blood test results and my potassium is very good. I think I will by some potassium pills anyway, they can't hurt. Thank you. Vivien > > Do you think you get enough potassium in your diet? Guest guest
It could be that you need the active thyroid hormone T3 - as they say, T3 makes you pee! I know it did me when I started taking natural thyroid extract after being 4 years on L-thyroxine only. Can you tell us what your last thyroid function test results were and when these were last done and what medication you are taking right now. Have you asked your GP to give you a trial of a diuretic such as Co-Amilozide 50mncgs? Luv - Sheila > > Hello, > I have lots of water retention. Can someone please recommend me something for it? Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I have been on T3 for about a month now. I perfectly know what is causing my water retention: hydrocortisone. It all started with the hydrocortisone but I can't stop it because is the only thing (at the moment) that is helping me with the severe pain in my body. Every time that I try to decrease it the pain comes back violently. I will not go to any nhs doctor because they disgust me. I just wanted to know if you had any over the counter suggestion. Thank you very much. I appreciate all your help. Vivien > > It could be that you need the active thyroid hormone T3 - as they say, T3 > makes you pee! Guest guest
Are you eating a low GI diet? that is supposed to help steroids work better? i was reading this, yesterday, too: http://www.wildeaboutsteroids.co.uk/steroids.html If you have gained a lot of weight and become obese because of taking prescribed steroids or HRT then I have very good news for you! - You have gained weight because of excess water stored in your body - mainly in the veins. You are suffering from what is called hypervolaemia - that is, abnormally high blood volume - and it is easy to reduce this abnormally high blood volume by losing some of the excess water. Another name for the problem is sodium retention. - This is the name that often appears in the reference books doctors have, that they use to look up correct doses of drugs they prescribe and side-effects that can result from taking the drugs. To prevent or reduce the weight gained, you need to cut down on salt and salty food, because the sodium retention has made you sensitive to salt. > > > Hi Sheila, > I have been on T3 for about a month now. Guest guest
where is the pain coming from? have you tried any natural anti inflammatories to help, like turmeric? just wondering if you took extra things to help with that, if it'd help you reduce HC a bit? do you score highly on any of these? just wondered if HC had thrown out anything else? http://www.johnleemd.com/store/resource_hormonetest.html chris > > How much HC are you on? Guest guest
Mmm... I don't know anything about turmeric used as an anti inflammatory. Thank you for suggesting, I will make a research about it. Without HC I have severe pain in all the right part of my body, from my feet up to my neck. My hope is that increasing slowly the T3 I will be able to manage the pain without HC. I hope!
