Guest guest
Hi, I have just joined this forum today. I am not feeling well and due to little help from my endocrinologist I am searching other ways to get the treatment that I need. My history I was diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroidism 23 years ago, at the age of 19. I was prescribed Thyroxine and have remained on this medication ever since, gradually increasing my dose. Present day This year i went hypothyroid again, my TSH was >100, my thyroxine was increased to 175mcg and although I have noticed some improvements I still do not feel well. I have many hypothyroid symptoms and it is really getting me down. My blood tests are now in the 'normal' range. I don't feel normal, I feel unwell. I paid to see an endcrinologist, I have two appointments but I am not impressed at all, I have no faith i that he will help me regain my health. I have an appointment with Dr. Peatfield in September, I am hoping this will help me find the right nutrients and alternative thyroid medication to help me get better. Please help, any suggestions very welcome on how to get better. Is it common for a hypothyroid patient to suddenly find that T4 is not effective?
