Hi Lil,

Are you taking the companion nutrients? Kathleen

numb upper lip side effect of Iodoral?

Hi,I started supplementing again about a month ago with Iodoral and worked up to taking 37.5 mgs a day. No side effects other than a sinus headache some days, then one morning my upper lip and numbness into my cheeks as if I had novocaine shots. Stopped the iodine and the numb diminished each day. After two weeks off I started with one tab again 12.5 mg and now 10 days in have slight numbness or trembling feel of my upper lip.Has anyone experienced this possible side effect from supplementing? Also as a side note, supplementning raises my blood sugar from a fasting of 80 to about 105, everything I've read says you experience the opposite. On a positive note I sweat again when I exercise. Thanks for any thoughts you might have.Lil

I only learned from some recent posts that you need regular daily salt in

addition to salt loading so I'll make some adjustments. thanks.

Jaxi,

I'll look at adding those supplements too, have a hard time swallowing more

pills, seem to get heartburn. I take 3 metformin, D3, Krill, 5 mcg t3 (does

nothing) and a multi occasionally. I can see many ways I could have bromide in

my system, and almost no ways I could have iodine from my diet. I have read

about the detox baths and plan to add them as well.

thanks.

Great suggestion, I have ordered from Swanson in the past and will get some

powdered magnesium. Do you get the C Salts there as well? If not the links

would be nice. My B12 numbers are high.

I just happen to have a bottle of ATP Cofactors here and each tablet contains:

Riboflavin 100mg

Niacin (as inositol hexanicotinate) 500mg

Hope this helps,

Jaxi - Doesn't it taste awful?

Thanks,

Mag citrate is not unpleasant. I had to dissolve my tablets as they were huge

and uncoated and were threatening to choke me nearly every time I took one.

Dissolving was easy and a little chalky, but otherwise not bad at all.

,

My Mom had weekly B12 injections and they raised her number way up. I took

sublingual 2,500 mcg (cherry flavored) and went from the midrange to high normal

(998) some people don't absorb it well so they use shots.

Hi Lil,

I have been dxd with Trigeminal Neuralgia. 2 years ago I had gamma knife

surgery and all was fine. Last April, I started to take a brand of iodine that

included selenium and either b-6 or niacin. Shortly there after my upper lip

went numb. Then my lower lip, then chin, then cheek, then whole side of face. (

It is still numb.) At the time however I did not know about taking salt.

Fast forward a year I had MVD surgery. Hoping this would help the pain and

numbness. It has been 9 months the last 3 of which I have been taking iodoral.

Anywhere from 12.5 to 100 mg.

Here is what I notice.

I took a 50 mg of iodoral with 200 mcg of selenium, along with the 200 mcg in my

multi. That day my nerve pain and numbness was significantly higher. I also

know from testing that I am allergic to brazil nuts ( high selenium content) so

I may have had too much selenium. Which can cause nerve damage.

I can take 50 or even 100 mg of iodoral for several days in a row, without the

extra selenium and it is always the day after I decide to give my body a rest

that it reacts severely. I get massive, and I mean massive pumpkin head

headaches, the TN hurts worse than ever, my face also more numb on the

outside(feels like novacaine).

Now then, all I can think is that I am either having a delayed detox rxn's from

fluoride meds, and bromides in my system or I am allergic to selenium. I did

find out that one medication that I took before one or more root canals

contained bromine. grrr

Anyway, I have to take a lot of salt, tablespoons of it, painkillers, and a

topomax to get rid of the headaches. I love celtic salt so that is never a

problem.

As for blood sugar I have gone Paleo for the last 3 months and was getting my

sugars down but it wasn't until a person on this list (thank you) recommended

ALA. I added that in last week. My blood sugar dropped like a rock. And the

two hour glucose test came back completely normal.

My triglycerides and cholesterol are up. I am starting Pantethine 900 mg

today.

http://www.preparemd.com/supplements-vitamins-categories-information/panthethine\

-lowers-cholesterol-and-triglycerides/

And for some reason the doc said my T4 was off? He didn't give me a number

other than TSH was 5 and so I started nature throid. the equivalent of 1/2

grain. As also mentioned on this list.(thank you)
