Guest guest
Hi WOW well done you !!!! my knees shake when i go to the docs , i remember the days when we trusted a doc and hung off every word , now all we seem to do is question them, its a sad world we live in when doctors no longer want to help us and tell us to live with it! Loved this story and well done again love Sha xxxxxx > > Today I finally went to see my GP with the results of my (privately done) Thyroid Screen, Adrenal profile & Hair Mineral Analysis. > > I absolutely hate going to the doctors about anything, and I have been putting this off for weeks. I was dreading the appointment as I haven't met a " good " GP I felt I could talk to in years. > old messages removed by moderator!!!! Guest guest
,I cannot understand why your doctor would not refer you to Dr.Skinner for budget reasons - after all as Dr. Skinner is private, you will be paying for the consultations etc. Why would it affect your GP's budget. Guest guest
Hi Lilian, Sorry I thought people could be referred to see Dr S on the NHS? I didn't realise he was private only. x > > , > > I cannot understand why your doctor would not refer you to Dr.Skinner for > budget reasons - after all as Dr. Skinner is private, you will be paying for > the consultations etc. Why would it affect your GP's budget. > > Lilian >
Guest guest
Don't worry - according to Sheila's list of endocrinologists who are prepared to think " outside the box " , there is a good endocrinologist at Southmead. I haven't seen her, but someone from our local TPA group has and thinks she is good. Are you able to meet up when we have our Bristol group get-togethers? It's always good to compare notes and benefit from each other's experiences. Guest guest
That's a good point, Lilian. It's probably a knee-jerk reaction. My GPs in Bristol seem to say that about a lot of things I ask for. Almost every consultation seems to include discussion of how expensive something is, as though it wasn't expensive to keep members of the public too ill to work! But now I have been here a while I would love to meet up. x
