Guest guest
I just had an chat with a close friend, whose wife is 40. She sees the same group of GPs that I do. As you know i've struggled with fatigue for years before just getting my diagnosis of Hashi's. The wife of my friend who is stick thin and not unduly tired has just been offered thyroxine because her TSH and fT4 have just dropped slightly outside 'normal' range. Her mother has had a complicated time getting sorted with regards to her hypothyroidism but my friends wife feels quite fine apparently although is aware of the family history hence being tested. So it just goes to show how we are all different and some of us can have borderline or so called normal results yet be on our knees, and others wouldn't even really notice they were hypothyroid! In the case of my friends wife, from what I see she probably doens't have the adrenal fatigue to the extent that some of us have, so maybe this is why. She always seems quite calm and laid back even though she is the mother of two young children and always seems to be busy. An interesting anecdote though, given that i've had such a fight to get the same GPs believe my obvious clinical signs whilst she has none yet she is offered thyroxine without question. Those wretched blood tests again!
