Don't feel badly. A lot of people don't understand how it all fits together.First of all, you have your internet provider. In my case, Comcast. This is the outfit you connect to to go on-line. You generally have an email address that is associated with your internet provider, but its most important function is to get you out on the internet. You can't do anything on the internet without a service provider. Many of us have other email addresses -- like gmail, hotmail, etc. Some of us have business email addresses, too. Email can be picked up for these addresses if you log on to your internet provider & go out on the internet to the various servers where your email is actually stored. This gets pretty tedious once you have several email addresses.Email client software is software installed on your computer, sort of a word processor, that can be set up to go collect all your email from all your various addresses. (You put your email addresses & passwords into the client software, & it gives your passwords to your various accounts.) You can write emails in this software, & send them out through your internet provider. Client software lets you file your emails. Outlook, Outlook Express, & Thunderbird are among the email client programs for PCs. (There are others.) Mac computers come installed with "Mail," & can also download a version of Thunderbird, I think. So to use client software, you boot up your computer, open your email client, & instruct it to pick up your mail. You read your mail in your email client, & can send responses from it.When you belong to an email group like this, you send an email to the group, & the server sends a copy of it out to every group member (including you. I think one of the services lets you opt out from seeing your own emails.) You can either go to groups to send & receive email, or you can set up your client software to do it.From what people are saying, they think the email client software is filing your posts somewhere in a SPAM folder. If that is the case, you are the only person who can fix it, because the client software is in your computer. Different email client programs have different quirks, so to get you help, we need to figure out which one you are working with.Do you have a Mac or a PC?If you have a Mac, the mail program that comes with it is probably called Mail. (There are other programs you can use to send & receive email. What program do you open to read your email?)If you have a PC, your machine probably came installed with Outlook or Outlook Express. Personally, I prefer Thunderbird, which is a free download. But again, there are other programs you might use. What program do you open to read your email? If we know what you have to work with, odds are somebody else might know how to get you sorted out.AnneOn Jun 21, 2011, at 1:44 PM, Ariel Monserrat wrote:

Most of us don't post from the site, I'll wager. I am running a Mac, & using their email client software. Most people I know use email client software of some sort, because it can go out onto the net & pick up all your email from various accounts.

Which email client are you using?AnneOn Jun 21, 2011, at 10:30 AM, Bonnie Cole wrote:

Well, I went and looked again at my membership and I am SUPPOSED to get copies of ALL emails, but I don't get my own.

And I wonder if it is because I POST directly from my Inbox, rather than from the List Site.

Could that by why?

Thanks,

Bonnie
