Guest guest
I gathered the following comments from thyroid sufferers over the years and it is worth realizing that so many of us can relate to these: I wish I had known that T3 and natural thyroid medication were viable choices. I wish I had known that there are a whole lot of doctors out there who are totally ignorant about thyroid disease. but feel that they can prescribe medications for it. I wish I had known that Drs have to follow the computer directions and not diagnose me from the clinical symptoms that I present I wish I had known not to take calcium or iron close to my thyroid meds I wish I had known that thyroid meds wont stabilize if I have adrenal exhaustion or insufficiency. I wish I had known that the mfg leaflet says that adrenals must be checked before taking thyroid meds I wish I had known that Drs dont recognize adrenal exhaustion or insufficiency. They cant treat what they dont acknowledge I wish I had not let my doctor intimidate me. I wish I had had the guts to say " your fired " I wish I had educated myself more and then I would have known when I was told " Your thyroid is NORMAL " that normal aint normal. I wish I had known that the TSH blood test is flawed I wish I had known that thyroid illness is genetic and runs in families I wish I had known that my mothers mental illness could have been her untreated thyroid condition I wish I had known that I have a voice in my medical care and I could have objected to some of the care/treatment I was receiving. I wish I had known that depression is a 'symptom' of untreated thyroid
