Guest guest
Hey Im no expert as Ive been only taking iodine for a few weeks (50mg per day no symptoms) but I can probably speak to the sensitivity to hand and feet. This is sometimes related to low levels of potassium. I don't remember which supplement out of the iodine protocol can effect your bodies potassium but I remember reading one of them can. You should check your levels and maybe consider supplementing with a good liquid form of one. I was on something else for a while for cancer called Cesium. It drastically effects your potassium levels and feet and hand sensitivity to cold was one of the indicators that you have to boost your potassium intake. Too much potassium can cause problems too so get your levels checked (blood) before you supplement. But that could be the cause of one of your symptoms. The pimples are most likely from your body trying to detox, its could be making your way out of skin cause your body isn't getting rid of it through your urine. Pimples are from what Ive read not uncommon. Not to sure about the constipation. I have had no symptoms so far on 50 and was thinking of upping because people with cancer go all the way up to 200 per day. The only little thing I noticed is that my hair has been falling out a little more. I always shed a little in the summer, so I just assumed I was shedding more than usual but after reading the threads It could be from the Idoral too. I am going to maybe up my salt to try and pee out more toxins. Make sure you are taking all the proper minerals and vitamins that are called for with this protocol. I cant take vitamin C cause of something else im on, so I could run into these same issues 3 months in. Hope this helps a little.BenFrom: david <dcal206@...>iodine Sent: Mon, June 20, 2011 6:07:04 PMSubject: Will these symptoms subside? I have recently stopped taking iodoral 50mg a day. In order to more efficiently detox I had been taking milk thistle 400mg x3, phosphadyl choline 500mg x3, buffered vit c 5000mg, vit d 1000mg, zinc 50mg x2, taurine 1000mg x3, glycine 1000mg x3, vit a 10000iu x3. What should I do? Increase the iodine? Lower it? Should I add some other supplement? More water? I'm really confused cause I did the iodoral for a little over 3 months 50mg a day and the symptoms persisted. -
Guest guest
,Did you use at least half tsp of celtic salt daily-essential for detox? Magnesium 400mg and 200-400 mcg of selenium? Looks like you have Vitamin C covered but these others are also part of the protocol to detox. Many of us use magnesium chloride on our skin. A b complex seems to help me with detox. I have never had major symptoms. Looks like you are supporting your liver. Could be that metagenics ultra clear ph shake at 5 pm after dinner as a little mini fast with water after that would help it even more. That cut my liver enzyme tests in half-back to normal finally. I tried silymarin or milk thistle for 4 years and just kept things the same but not worse. Guest guest
Well, clearly constipation is bad news when you are trying to detox. My first recommendation is always Oxy-Powder, because I have had really good luck with it. You can also loosen up by increasing vitamin C & magnesium & water. (A lot of experts recommend taking C & magnesium "to bowel tolerance," & then cutting back slightly.) You can also buy fiber caps at the health food store. You definitely want to keep the toxic sludge moving. When you get constipated, you reabsorb the stuff you are trying to get rid of.As for pimples & cysts, I would say that is definitely crud your body is trying to get rid of. I have always been cyst prone, & when I started iodine, there was a lot of cyst action. A little cyst I had in my crotch for over 35 years suddenly formed a head, burst, & drained. Five of 6 tiny cysts in my eye-lids gradually disappeared, & the last one is nearly gone. I was thrilled! But then NEW cysts started forming. Now, wait a MINUTE! The only good news seems to be that they come & go a lot faster than they used to, like my body is keeping things moving, instead of encapsulating crud in perpetuity. (Which prompts me to wonder what happened to the cysts when you stopped taking iodine. Did they clear up right away, or are they persisting?)This seems to be a whole separate phenomenon from zits, which I seem to get if I miss taking a FIR sauna for more than a night or two. The sauna really seems to help with the surface zits. (And if I happen to get one, I daub it with food grade peroxide, slightly diluted.) But these little cysts seem to be deeper under the skin & to get a little larger.(Your vitamin A seems high for anything more than short-term use. And you don't mention salt & selenium in your list. Selenium is one of the companion nutrients, & salt seems to help with most detox symptoms. And what about B2 & B3? Did you not include them because you think they go without saying, or because you haven't been taking them? Most detox complaints are from people who don't take all the companion nutrients.)Decreasing the iodine might slow the detox for a while, till you get on top of it. But it seems pretty clear that if iodine gives you detox symptoms, that means you really need it.Since you are getting skin symptoms, detox baths might be in order, if you don't have access to a FIR sauna. And anything that makes you sweat (like exercise.) Dr. L has mentioned skin brushing in the past. Although working on all the OTHER detox pathways also helps the skin.AnneOn Jun 20, 2011, at 6:07 PM, david wrote: I have recently stopped taking iodoral 50mg a day. Guest guest
Forgot to mention I am taking 100mcg x2 selenomethione,b-complex 50mg x3-4 and 400mg x2-6 magnesium oxide to loosen up the bowels. Without the mag oxide I would have some trouble. Epsom salts just gives me gas as well as Vitamin C after awhile. Pardon if that is too much info. I have also been trying to increase methylation by supping TMG because it might be a breakdown in the way my liver is detoxing some of the bromide. Haven't noticed a difference. - > > > ** > > > > > > I have recently stopped taking iodoral 50mg a day. > > There were a few side effects which I do not wish > > to continue with and was wondering if anyone could > > relate with what I had experienced. > > > > -Increase constipation > > -Pimples on the eyebrows > > -Pimples/cysts in both nostrils > > -Increased sensitivity too cold (hands and feet) > > > > Didn't seem to see any other drawbacks that I can > > recall. Guest guest
Sorry, I forgot to mention a few other things I was doing. I had been taking celtic sea salt in a large glass of water first thing in the morning along with the iodoral. Maybe 1 tsp salt isn't enough? In looking through the archives and the files I don't know if I have a proper grasp on what is salt loading and pulsing. I have been taking mag oxide 400mg x2-6. Helps with the constipation but I don't want to become overly reliant on this. This I believe is pretty much what oxypowder is. I used to take it when I did liver flushes. Vitamin C just gave me gas when I started iodoral. Go figure. I do take selenomethione 100mcg x2 and b-complex 50mg x3-4. - > > > I have recently stopped taking iodoral 50mg a day. Guest guest
.Try epsom salts. One teaspoon in a glass of water. Adjust according to results.Worked wonders for me when all else failed. It is of course magnesium sulphate.Inexpensive ,effective, may work for you. From: david <dcal206@...>iodine Sent: Thu, 23 June, 2011 23:33:54Subject: Re: Will these symptoms subside?
