Conference registration and abstract submission for the XIV

International Conference on AIDS is now available online. The theme

of this year¹s conference, scheduled to take place in Barcelona,

Spain July 7-12, 2001, is " Knowledge and Commitment for Action. " The

theme is intended to reinforce the need for all involved sectors at

all levels, including scientists, the community, people working in

the field, and the public and private sectors, to work together to

review the knowledge gained through science and experience and use

this knowledge to commit to action.

Scholarships (deadline: February 1, 2002)

The Conference organizers are committed to making the Conference

accessible to people from resource-poor environments and to young

scientists globally. We therefore offer financial assistance to

people from developing countries, newly independent states, NGOs,

people from marginalized communities, people living with HIV/AIDS,

journalists and young scientists to help them attend. Priority will

be given to those whose participation will help enhance their work in

their own communities, to those who are able to assist in the

transfer of skills and knowledge acquired at the Conference, and to

those whose abstracts have been selected for the Scientific

Conference Program. To date, EUR 1,000,000 has been allocated to the

Scholarship program. Both full and partial scholarships will be

offered.

Registration for Scholarship Applicants

Those interested in applying for a scholarship must complete the

downloadable Scholarship Application Form and return it to the

Scholarship Department at the Conference Secretariat in Barcelona by

February 1, 2002. Scholarship applicants should NOT submit the

official Registration Form.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts forms, guidelines and online abstract submission are

All abstracts should be submitted in English. If accepted, your

abstract will appear in its full form in the Abstract Book, which

will be available as a CD-ROM and hard copy. In addition, all

participants will receive a final program, containing the Conference

Program and a list of all abstracts to be presented orally or as

posters.

Registration

All registrations for the XIV International AIDS Conference must be

submitted using an official registration form. Use one form for each

person registering. Registration forms are available on line at

Registration fees:

Regular Participant: $850 before February 1, 2002; $950 before May

1, 2002; $1050 after May 1, 2002

Student: $250 before May 1, 2002; no student registrations will be

accepted after May 1, 2002

Accompanying Person: $100
