Can anybody tell me which is the correct term to use when

discussing the results of tests. I know doctors use 'Reference Range' and other

doctors use 'Reference Interval'. We discussed this at the GMC last week and I

was told the correct term that should ALWAYS be used is 'Reference Interval'

but need an explanation as to why. I know both of these terms are used

throughout the world and both have been used for years, but it would be good to

know which one is correct - especially if say, you are writing a paper.
