Guest guest
Hi Ian Brilliant idea - but I found once I got to the medical paragraph I gave up - I think being too technical/medical just puts people off. Personally I would rather read something simple, straightforward and easier to understand - and I know the people I would send it to would too! Rather than explaining the medical angle, how about just listing the hundreds (!!) of symptoms we suffer instead - surely that would be enough to explain. Absolutely brilliant idea though - I am making a list of who I will send it to already!! You will see that I have written the email so that as many people as possible can relate to it. This does not describe a real person and yet in many ways describes thousand. Guest guest
Hi Colleean I must say I agree. But without some sort of overview how do we make the point? Maybe rather than a medical description we should say something along the lines of:..... ============================================= We could try to explain the medcal reasoning behind the problems people are experiencing but it would run into many pages and is likely to leave you none the wiser. What we want is for doctors, lab technicians, the British Medical Council, the government, the NHS, the thyroid ??? etc. etc. etc. to take a close look at the way thyroid problems are diagnosed and treated. They seem to be blinkered and are ignoring important facts about the condition. They need to listen to their patients. They need to take notice of the groups that are forming all over the world. If you would like to see the " technical " details tale a look at: ***** appropriate link here ******* ============================================== Ian > Hi Ian > Brilliant idea - but I found once I got to the medical paragraph I gave up - I > think being too technical/medical just puts people off.  Personally I would > rather read something simple, straightforward and easier to understand - and I > know the people I would send it to would too! Rather than explaining the > medical angle, how about just listing the hundreds (!!) of symptoms we suffer > instead - surely that would be enough to explain. > Absolutely brilliant idea though - I am making a list of who I will send it to > already!! Guest guest
Hi Ian, Whilst this is great I think it is too much information and for the people who do not understand medical type things it will go over the top of their heads. It needs to be just a few simple lines. My opinion anyway Best wishes Mandy
Guest guest
Hi Ian Firstly, brilliant idea! I suppose it depends on who it goes to as to what exactly it contains. Originally I thought it was just for lay people not doctors, etc. Perhaps you could do one for lay people and then add a paragraph for the medical experts which only they would understand and would want to read. Personally I would bullet point it rather than going into too long an explanation and I suppose a list of the endless symptoms we suffer would be a good idea as most of these just seem to be dismissed by the medical profession. The usual "your bloods are ok, so you are ok" is something we are all ready to scream about! Kind regards Colleen From: ianabennett <ian@...>thyroid treatment Sent: Sat, 23 July, 2011 23:31:19Subject: Re: Idea for emai "chain" letter. Hi ColleeanI must say I agree. I also need your help to help summarise the medical overview I wrote in the middle. It was starting to make my brain hurt.
