Hello:

I was just recently (today) on the Iodine site and wrote out a Post but for some reason it never got posted so I will ask again.

I have a friend (now 60) who was infected more than 20 years ago with a Mycoplasma and was finally diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and she has extreme fatigue and joint pain and is almost an invalid.

I wonder if Iodine might help relieve her symptoms but don't know WHERE the Virus lives and exactly WHERE Iodine will go.

Anyone with some direction or advice?

Thank you so much,

Bonnie

Dear Zahavi

There's a good discussion of coagulation disorders associated with hypothyroidism in Dr Brownstein's book. He also gives some useful tests for those, but in reviewing those with your own physician, you would need to be a little more specific on the lab slip to get the right tests done.

I have posted about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & thick blood in the past. I now have a book, The Encyclopedia of Medical Breakthroughs & Forbidden Treatments. Page 100, under the heading of Hypercoagulation, states that based on studies in the early 90's, more than 80 percent of people with CFS also have hypercoagulation of the blood. They state this is an immune response to any number of causes and it "forgets" to switch off. This causes an accumulation of fibrin in blood, and the cause of CFS in these people. When I discovered this, I had a fibrin test. My fibrin was 1200, when the high reference is about 300. Since then I have been on a phlebotomy schedule, plus taking natto (a fermented soy blood thinner). My fibrin level is now 395. I am breathing much better, have more stamina, and my blood pressure is down. My point is, the cause of CFS does not have to continue being mystery. It does have an identifiable cause for many many people!!! Hypercoagulation. So, It need not fall into this 'trap' being laid by the APA, whereby they grab up 'mystery' diseases. If you or someone you know has CFS, look into it! Please! Hemex Lab does the blood test. www.hemex.com. They say it's typically covered by medical insurance. Medicare covers it for me.

Hi Bonnie

ME is often used as an alternate name for CFS (Chronic Fatigue Sydrome) which

can in turn be confused or co-present with Fibromyalgia.

I have it too, although I am not aware that mine is caused by an organism).

However, now that my thyroid is being treated, with iodine and Cytomel, I'm

feeling a lot better. Not 'there' yet, but better.

Iodine/iodide, such as Lugol's or Iodoral will go everywhere. It's in every

part of your body. Particularly affected are thyroid and breasts.

My suggestion would be that she gets a full thyroid test done, with Free T3 and

Free T4, and ask for the American Academy of Clinical Endocrinologist's range

for TSH.

Of course, she can probably start on a low dose of iodine at any point!

I'm just speaking from experience. If your thyroid is out of kilter, for

whatever reason, nothing else works very well.
