Guest guest
There were two rebuttals , one for Armour versus T4 only and one for T4/T3 combination and you are correct for some of us, we need T3 only and titrating several times a day in very small doses. I have passed this message on to the main thyroid forum. Luv - Sheila This is a very well written and informative article. It is also extremely timely for me as I found out yesterday that my body is no longer converting the T4 Synthroid properly as it has done very efficiently and happily for the past 3 years. From the results it appears the T4 is being converted but at a much lower percentage. My Dr immediately put me on a combination of Synthroid and Cytomel - it is too early to tell the affect yet but certainly hope that the situation will improve. I know if it does not then I go straight back to her to get straightened out. Thank God she is open to me talking to her about different resolutions. Yesterday when she told me my results I mentioned T3 and she immediately said Yes. (she's a gem) I fully respect what you say about Armour but do believe that for people like myself who are on extremely small doses per day (in comparison with many) that Armour is over-kill. It may of course happen one day that I indeed need it. But as we all know this bugger of a disease can and often does affect people in different ways/degrees. Anyways I just wanted to say thank you for all you do - you too are a gem.
