Guest guest
Terri, Regarding the goal body and maintenance, it seems that many of us end up having a moving target! At the start of my challenge, all I wanted was to get back into a size 5. I surpassed that in my first challenge. Then I wanted to get some more definition in my muscles. Then I realized I needed to build more lean mass. Now I want to look like a freaky bodybuilder. (which I used to think was a gross look So whomever replied and said you set new goals was right on! Your goals change because before you start BFL you have no idea how extensive your potential and possibilities are! As for how much and what type of workouts, you should be changing your workouts completely on a fairly regular basis. The more you confuse your body the more progress you will see. So after 12 weeks of the BFL pyramid, I believe you should do something totally different. Some phases will be more intense some phases less. But variety is key, so to make a long story short, if you still feel like doing your firm tapes after your first challenge, by all means work them in. Don't put off starting due to having guests. It is not hard at all to make BFL authorized meals. Even without getting into " recipes " Chicken, potatoes, veggies steak, potatoes, veggies lean hamburgers, whole wheat buns, veggies Saute chicken with onions, garlic tomatoes, serve over pasta or rice Saute lean ground beef with onions and garlic, add brown rice and salsa, and stuff peppers with it. Soup made with chicken, rice, lots of veggies and chicken broth Veggie omelet with grilled potatoes or black beans on the side .......... Guest guest
This is not a program you can reach your goal then stop doing. You'll gain the weight back. IMHO, maintenance is more difficult than the actual weight loss progression because there isn't a lot of " progress " to be made beyond larger muscles so there's not much to see. And that is painfully slow even in the best of circumstances. After you reach goal weight this truly has to be a way of life in order to maintain. You will be used to doing things the BFL way and will actually " miss " being in the gym if you don't continue going and will actually not want to cut out any of the six meals you have become so used to eating. There's no way I could ever go back to eating three squares a day. BFL is a program to be enjoyed " for life. " Stasia
Guest guest
I read the replies to this and while I agree on most points, I disagree about starting before your guests arrive. I know for me, finding my workout groove was very challenging. Figuring out what and how and when to eat was even more challenging. I don't think you need the added stress of taking care of more people while learning how this program will work for you. My two cents. > Hi all, > > I have been lurking for a couple of days here and am just reading the > BFL book at the moment but had a couple of questions. Guest guest
I believe there are 64 ounces in a gallon. and as far as staying an hour in the gym goes, some of the people that are staying in the gym for hours are probably not hitting high points and reaching their maximum potential. I know when I am finished with my weight training there is almost no way I could do any more. I'm really sore and ready for a good stretch. I have been following the belief that if you can do more weights are cardio then you are not reaching a true high point. You say you feel like you are really hitting 10's and that is what is important, pushing that muscle to the max. > I'm sure they've been asked a million times already but here they > are > > 1) Is a gallon of water about the right amount to get in a day? Guest guest
---Hey there! how are ya? I thought I could answer your questions from the bottom up. concerning your weight training..you are the smart chica! those people who hang out at the gym for hours on end are getting nowwhere in most cases. they seem to look the same day in and day out do you notice? whilst all the while..you care changing every day. longer is not better when it comes to bfl workouts. I will swear to you it is the intensity that counts not how long you workout. (and diet ofcourse) take my word for it cause the shorter stuff really works. I spend 45 minutes tops on upper body day. you are making way more progress than most people. don't try and be in there longer on weight day..you could start loosing muscle when you do more and you can't let that happen. did this help..I hope so. second..a gallon of water is a great great amount of water. I don't know how many ounces are in a gallon though..not so great at math! lol water really aids in fat loss so it is really important to get that in. My goal is totally fat loss right now cause I have alot of muscle. it is finally peaking out I must add..lol. it has been waiting to do this. but I wait an hour after weights and cardio to eat. I have better results with fat loss that way. if I was trying to put on muscle I would probably eat right after weights..but my body does not loose fat that well unless I wait an hour after weights. that is just me. and I still have enuff strength doing it that way. everyone is different. I eat a shake usually after my workouts..like protein powder and skim milk..or I eat cottage cheese and sug free fat free yougurt. It is great you are asking questions..it means you are sooo dedicated! Guest guest
everyone reacts differently to tx so it is a kind of wait and see how he tolerates it---- my hubby did tx in 03 to 04 had a hard time no energy was sick short of breath but he did nightly shot he is type 4 stage 4 he is a nonresponer and he still has trouble with being able to do things like right now he is out cutting grass tomorrow he many be sick and cant get off the couch it is hard to tell them not to do to much he feel helpless so i let him do what he wants and worry about tomorrow when it gets here kat From: dobiemom6 <dtnunnally@...>Subject: couple of questionsHepatitis CSupportGroupForDummies Date: Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 11:27 AM My dh is starting his tx on friday. He is confident and positive. I am trying to be the same, however, have fear and sadness grip my heart at times. (as I am writing this for instance). More about someone I love so much having to go through this for the next 48 weeks. My question at this point is how to support him. I have read the info on the list, the letter that was posted, and I am a social worker, so I have the basics down. His mindset is that all is going to be fine and that he will do well. I think this is the best way to approach the treatment, mind over matter is powerful. He can overdo things and not listen to his body, and I wonder: Do I allow him to do what he wants or should I remind him that overdoing it can lead to problems later? Where does one cross the line to overbearing and nagging. Also, is there a way to not have my full name come up on my post. I am posting from the web page at the moment. He wants to stay low key about his tx and this is a public list. I saw this question earlier, but did not see the response. Guest guest
I wonder if iodine is effective against warts?I am wanting to find a practitioner who is up on the iodine protocol, and who knows what to look for in thyroid testing. I live in Santa Cruz, CA. Today I called Dr Ross' office in San Francisco - He sounds good, but to the tee of $550 for the first visit (1-2 hours) and $400/hour for follow-up visits. Ouch. I am not sure if Dr no in Monterey is what I am looking for, even though he is listed as iodine literate as well. Does anyone know of any practitioner in the Santa Cruz/Bay Area that would be worth looking into, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg? Another question: what does organification mean?-- " I have come to believe that in the world there is nothing to explain the world.
