Guest guest
Hi all, my daughter just started taking lugol's 2%. 2 drops twice a day & is getting that metallic taste for couple hrs after. can you tell me what causes that & how to get rid of? also, I'd like to do the iodine/bromine loading test but was wondering if I neede to stop iodine for day or two before doing it? I know you have to be taking between 25-50mg when you do it but didnt know if should stop few days before that. sure appreciate your response! thankyou, Sheila > > > > > > > > hello everyone, I'm new to group & had a few questions. some quick background: started on NTH 2008,didn't do that good. realized I had RT-3. started T-3 only 8/2010. body filled up w/fluid horribly & gained 35lbs. moderators on RT-3 group thought it was related to electrolyte imbalance so have been doing sodium/potassium but hasnt helped. found info on iodine few weeks ago, decided to try it. started w/lugol's 2%. noticed more energy, hair stopped falling out, skin better, mental & emotional much better! was able to get off T-3 first week. been off completely for 2 weeks now & feel good. now doing 5%solution/300mg a day. feel I need that much as I have Hep-c, H-pylori, gluten intolerance etc. I'm taking b-2,b-3 twice a day, vit-c, b-complex, probiotics, selenium, iron, hcl & enzymes & herbs for hep-c. my questions are: do you think fluid retention could be related to bromine detox? I've read where ther's about 50-60% iodine in thyroid meds so wondering if that's what started all this? it does seem to be getting a little better w/just iodine. also, what will help me get my temps up? havent gotten above 97.8? & yesterday a big round rash appeared inside thigh area & I've had pain in rib under r. breast, could that be related to bromine/heavy metal detox & what would help this? Oh, forgot to mention I'm on 30mg HC for adrenal fatigue also. thankyou so much for your time & effort in answering my questions! Guest guest
1) This is most likely bromine being excreted but it could also be heavy metals. 2) Make sure all of the companion nutrients are being taken (these can be found in the New Member Document which is located in the Files) 3) Salt loading - this addition to the salt required for the iodine protocol. It is also found in the New Member document. 4) The lab that you order the test from will tell you what the requirements are if you are already taking iodine daily. 5) Though not required most people take their iodine in the morning and/or at least before noon-1:00 because it can also have a stimulating effect. > > > > > > > > > > hello everyone, I'm new to group & had a few questions. some quick background: started on NTH 2008,didn't do that good. realized I had RT-3. started T-3 only 8/2010. body filled up w/fluid horribly & gained 35lbs. moderators on RT-3 group thought it was related to electrolyte imbalance so have been doing sodium/potassium but hasnt helped. found info on iodine few weeks ago, decided to try it. started w/lugol's 2%. noticed more energy, hair stopped falling out, skin better, mental & emotional much better! was able to get off T-3 first week. been off completely for 2 weeks now & feel good. now doing 5%solution/300mg a day. feel I need that much as I have Hep-c, H-pylori, gluten intolerance etc. I'm taking b-2,b-3 twice a day, vit-c, b-complex, probiotics, selenium, iron, hcl & enzymes & herbs for hep-c. my questions are: do you think fluid retention could be related to bromine detox? Guest guest
thankyou so much baxrox, I thought that might be the case so will tell her about companion nutrients & salt loading. since I'm new, not familiar w/moderators. are you a moderator? do you mind if I ask how long you've done iodine & whether you take NTH also? did you have to overcome any problems? thanks again, Sheila > > > > > > > > > > > > hello everyone, I'm new to group & had a few questions. some quick background: started on NTH 2008,didn't do that good. realized I had RT-3. started T-3 only 8/2010. body filled up w/fluid horribly & gained 35lbs. moderators on RT-3 group thought it was related to electrolyte imbalance so have been doing sodium/potassium but hasnt helped. found info on iodine few weeks ago, decided to try it. started w/lugol's 2%. noticed more energy, hair stopped falling out, skin better, mental & emotional much better! was able to get off T-3 first week. been off completely for 2 weeks now & feel good. now doing 5%solution/300mg a day. feel I need that much as I have Hep-c, H-pylori, gluten intolerance etc. I'm taking b-2,b-3 twice a day, vit-c, b-complex, probiotics, selenium, iron, hcl & enzymes & herbs for hep-c. my questions are: do you think fluid retention could be related to bromine detox? Guest guest
No, I am not a moderator. Buist, ND is the owner of the list, the moderators are Baker, Kathleen Blake and Linn . 's story can be found on her website: www.naturalthyroidchoices.com. Both Kathleen & have posted their stories but it might be a deep dig to find them in the forum archives. One of these days I might find them and write the MSG # down to be able to share with new forum members as they also contain helpful information all found in one nice tidy spot. Not sure if Linn has posted a personal story. So I am just a fellow forum member who gathers and shares information and sometimes offers a personal thought on things. The information that I shared with you below was either taken from the New Member document or was information that I have seen , the moderators or other long time forum members share with newcomers ... just paying it forward :-) Cannot give a perspective on NTH questions but there are lots here who are quite savvy about it. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > hello everyone, I'm new to group & had a few questions. some quick background: started on NTH 2008,didn't do that good. realized I had RT-3. started T-3 only 8/2010. body filled up w/fluid horribly & gained 35lbs. moderators on RT-3 group thought it was related to electrolyte imbalance so have been doing sodium/potassium but hasnt helped. found info on iodine few weeks ago, decided to try it. started w/lugol's 2%. noticed more energy, hair stopped falling out, skin better, mental & emotional much better! was able to get off T-3 first week. been off completely for 2 weeks now & feel good. now doing 5%solution/300mg a day. feel I need that much as I have Hep-c, H-pylori, gluten intolerance etc. I'm taking b-2,b-3 twice a day, vit-c, b-complex, probiotics, selenium, iron, hcl & enzymes & herbs for hep-c. my questions are: do you think fluid retention could be related to bromine detox?
