You take the test on a normal working day. Remember to test is

to check the stress levels of your adrenals when you are going about your daily

chores, and not your levels when you are resting.

I have ordered the test: Advance Saliva Hormone Profile from ZRT

Labs which includes 4 cortisol samples. I'm am taking this test

to check for fatigue. I am wondering when would be the best time

to take this test: On days when I am working or on days off. I

feel more stressed when working: moderately physical job, and

also feel very tired the day after. I'm just wondering if it will

matter as finding out how the hormones are working.

Thanks

If you sleep until late in the day, you do the 24 hour saliv test whenever

you wake, and then four hours later follow with the next test and so on.

Just be sure to let ZRT Labs know when you send in your samples the exact

times you did the tests and the reasons why and they will work this out

accordingly.

Hi Shiela,

I think you should be aware that Genova are statting that the first test should

be taken by 9.30am. I asked them about the timing, as I usually do not have an

early rising time, and they said it should be done by 9.30am. Rose at 9am felt

like death warmed up. This is another difference there appears to be in the

instructions. Have you had a reply from the governor about the Melatonin

question please?

I am awaiting my results and wondering whether I have just wasted my money.

Kind regards,

Tina.

MODERATED TO REMOVE MOST OF PREVIOUS MESSAGE: PLEASE REMOVE MOST OF THE MESSAGE

YOU'RE RESPONDING TO AND LEAVE JUST A SENTENCE OR TWO.

Can I still go back to bed after the first sample if I start at 9

am? I ask because it is hard to get up in the morning; I have

trouble falling asleep a lot of times before 2-4 in the morning.

Also wondering if the last sample has to be taken at bedtime or

can it be taken earlier, like around 12 if I go to bed at 2 am.

I'm just trying to fit this into my work schedule and breaks. If

I work from 2:30 to 11 I could take a sample at 9, 2, 6:30,12

You can take the samples every four hours throughout the day so long as you

let the laboratory know exactly the times that you took them. Not sure you

should be going back to bed though after the first one has been done because

you need to do the test on an ordinary 'working' day when your body is going

through particular stresses that come with daily living, and this is a

stress test, not a relaxing test. Watch that you don't waste your money. I

would do everything I could to keep myself active as much as possible

throughout the day.
