Guest guest
16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence held annually from 25 November to 10 December has been an occasion to raise awareness around gender-based violence as a human rights violation. It has also served as a campaign to seek better protection for survivors of violence. This year's theme, " Racism & Sexism: No More Violence, " seeks to link the issue of violence against women to the UN World Conference against Racism, Xenophobia, Racial Discrimination and Related Intolerances (WCAR) held in Durban, South Africa from 31 August to 07 September 2001. The Center for Women's Global Leadership (CWGL)is giving out a campaign kit that outlines possible actions and strategies in celebrating the 16 Days. The kit contains a: · campaign profile · description of dates · list of participating organizations and countries · bibliography and resource list · list of suggested activities, and · current Campaign announcement Activities from Campaigns of previous years can also be found at the CWGL website. You may request for a kit from: 16 Days Campaign Coordinator Center for Women's Global Leadership 160 Ryders Lane Rutgers University New Brunswick, NJ 08901-8555, USA Fax: (1-732)932-1180 E-mail: cwgl@... ____________________
