Hi,

I have seen my specialist and he has said I am only very slightly low not

necessary, but as i have a goiter and two nodules which require surgery what i

can try first is having a little thyroxian with him monitoring me very carefully

and hopefully that will shrink the goiter...but i cant seem to find any

information as to wether or not this is true..and when i did a search i

stumbled across a blog where a lady said it enlarged her goiter and nodule not

decrease it..so i am a little confused and hesitant on doing this...please help

me....oh i should let you know my goiter and multi nodules are growing down my

into my kneck and i get a choking feeling when i put my arms above my head

Hi

By taking thyroxine, this should decrease the size of the

goitre, but will have no effect on the nodules. What dose levothyroxine has he

suggested for you - see http://thyroid.about.com/cs/hypothyroidism/a/hashivshypo.htm

and http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/120034-treatment

Have you had your iodine levels checked to see whether you also

need iodine? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1284331
