Guest guest
I just read at " Iodine and salt loading " in the member file, that salt loading is only neccesary if one has side effects. So that means that I do not have to take the salt loading. So it is enaugh to take selenium, magnesium and vitamin C apart from the ca. 50mg of iodine ( 8 drops of lugol's). Am I am right? Guest guest
You need half tsp of salt or more daily for basic needs and to follow the protocol correctly. Salt takes away toxins that iodine works out of your system. You are correct that you don't need to salt load minus any detox symptoms so just add some salt to your food. Works for me. Guest guest
The salt loading is different from the daily salt supplementing. Salt loading is done to get rid of detoxing issues. 1/2 tsp or more of salt daily is part of the iodine protocol. Guest guest
In the member file it says only to take it when you have detox symtoms, and then only for a few days???
Guest guest
It says to SALT LOAD when you have detox symptoms. You consume at LEAST a 1/2 tsp of unrefined sea salt daily regardless as part of the protocol.JaxiOn Tue, May 24, 2011 at 6:25 PM, m micha <micha3030@...> wrote: In the member file it says only to take it when you have detox symtoms, and then only for a few days??? Guest guest
How much Vit C and what type are you taking? How much magnesium and what type are you taking? And all at the same time in the morning on an empty stomach? Vit C and magnesium can both cause D depending on type, quantities, way taken, etc. Both are often taken to " bowel tolerance. Guest guest
I take Iodoral first thing in the morning and the companion nutrients with breakfast. Some vitamins are to be taken with food for better absorption and some on an empty stomach like water soluble like my vit C. I don't take all the companion nutrients at one time. It seems like you are making this too hard. If it makes you uncomfortable or sick just spread it out. Your body doesn't need it all at once. Guest guest
Although my bowels generally tend more towards loose than constipated especially since taking iodine and supplements, what is going on with the salt drink is very unsociable and sudden and occurs within five minutes of drinking and leaves me with a reactive gut for the rest of the day. As a rule I only do the salt drink if I feel toxic (skin break outs), but have been doing it nearly every day for the past fortnight because I've upped my dose from 50 - 75 mg. I take this drink first thing on an empty stomach. I eat breakfast within 20 minutes. I take my supplements after breakfast. I'm taking 2000 mg of buffered vit c, 1200 mg NAC and 360 mg of magnesium glycinate, 6 caps Thorne Basic Detox Nutrients, 4 Thorne Methylguard daily, 200 iu selenium, 4 caps Arctic Omega, 2 x ATP, 75 mg Iodine, 4-6000 iu Vit D. Any thoughts most appreciated. > > Do you have it if you take nothing? > > Buist, ND > > > salt loading > > > > I am taking half a teaspoon of salt with water on an empty stomach in the mornings along with my iodine and companion nutrients. > > But rather than copious urination, I am experiencing copious diarrhoea. Guest guest
Very unsocialable? I've been like that for 35 years. I have crohn's and celiac's. I'm wondering if your supplements are messing with you and are you drinking lots of water right after you drink the salt water. I would eat a light breakfast then do your salt. Change it around. Or just eat a piece of fruit for breakfast. I wait until I've had my bowel movements in the morning before doing my salt, since that is the first thing that happens to me when I wake up. Guest guest
It sounds like something else is going on. I don't see any probiotic on your list. I think you should check into that. Messed up gut flora makes your bowels irregular. Heal the gut and you have the ability to resolve many ailments. Guest guest
There are several good ones. I have taken 1. Metagenics Lactoviden (AM) and Metagenics BifoViden (PM) when I was fighting cancer - 2 of each w/o food. 2. When I was better I took 2 Metagenics Lactoviden before breakfast 3. UDO's Choice Adult Formula Probiotics - can get at a healthfood store or Whole Foods in the refrigerated section. 4. Therelac's Probiotic - you will have to search online for it. I got a sample at a medical conf I attended so I haven't ordered it.
