Guest guest
Yes. Sort of.You are experiencing what both my sister & I experienced. You need to drink celtic sea salt , 1/2 tsp in tall glass water, followed by plain water every day, and take more liver detox supplements, milk thistle, dandelion & any others that people suggest are good as well.My ankle swelled up. Got really fat & hurt.I learned from this group that the bromide was being kicked off the receptors, and then continuously circulating in the body. Not leaving which causes aclogged liver, and gout.I didn't know why at the time, went to an acupuncturist, she said it was clogged liver. Then it didn't go away so I went to a Chi Nei Tsang practitiioner, she too said - clogged liver, and her treatment plus Reiki really helped, but salt loading helped the most. Now I know that when my left ankle swells, my liver is clogged. My sister's story is much worse. She got full body gout, after taking iodine & not getting the propersupport from her Colorado Dr. She went to two other doctors, they put her on anti biotics, monthsof pain, until i saw her over the holidays. I told her she needed to begin salt loading and decreaseiodine (we just have to take the increases more slowly than others), and she began to get better.I cured her, because I belong to this awesome group!!!!I hope that helps a lot.BestAliOn Apr 26, 2011, at 3:58 AM, wrote: I started taking iodine several months ago, up to 10 drops daily of 2% Lugol's. I stopped taking iodine about a month ago just because I was too busy to remember to take care of myself. Since then, the finger stiffness has remained and recently gotten much worse...like arthritis worse. It's my dominant hand, worse in two fingers. This was a clear, sudden increase in stiffness and pain. I restarted the iodine today. I also take the companion supplements of magnesium, selenium, and Juice Plus to cover the rest of the vitamins/minerals. Can iodine supplementation trigger problems like this in someone who is very deficient? I assume I am very deficient just based on diet. thanks! Guest guest
I cured gout that I had before the iodine from liver issues when I healed up the liver with the metagenic shake for 3 weeks after an early dinner at 5 pm and then just water after that as a mini fast. Salt is important for the iodine but actually helping the liver is essential too. Silymarin or milk thistle for 3 previous years had kept thing from getting worse but didn't heal it. Usually the liver is very quick to regenerate but I had clogged common bile duct and 2 surgeries for that which left liver very unhappy/swollen/achy but helped the blood test numbers dramatically. Your liver cells will literally die to protect you from toxins. Gout is very painful but minor compared to a very sick liver. Guest guest
thank you!!! I also stopped taking the salt when I got busy. I've never taken the other things you mentioned. I have no practitioner around here to help me with this, so I will look through old posts here and learn. So you are saying the bromine that was " loosened " when I first started the iodine may be still circulating instead of leaving my body? I have my autistic son on iodine too...could he be clogged? How would I know? (he does not express pain well. He actually does very well on iodine, really helps him calm) Thanks again! > > > I started taking iodine several months ago, up to 10 drops daily of 2% Lugol's. Guest guest
ok thanks. I will look into liver support! I've never tried that before as I never suspected liver issues. Thank you! > > > > > > > > I started taking iodine several months ago, up to 10 drops daily of 2% > > Lugol's. Very soon after that, I started to have morning stiffness in my > > hands/fingers. Guest guest
Metagenics Ultra Clear is what Pam is recommending and what also recommends. It is found here:http://www.iherb.com/search?kw=metagenics%20ultraclear%20plusI like the pineapple, but it is expensive.I have trouble getting salt into my seven yr. old daughter as well.I just cook with it, and we take weekends off of the iodine. That's why with them you just have to take it so slowly. My daughter has had many and has many learning disabilities as well. Her behavior has improved a lot over the past three years with detoxing.I would love to learn how iodine helps your son.I believe it will. There is actually a pedatric Neurologist who accepts insuranceand believes learning dis. improve as you detox children. She is at http://www.mybrainhealth.org/Contact.htmlCall her. She may do phone consults or recommend someone. We are in the San Fran Bay Area. You have then decide if you want to detox heavy metals from your sonwhile detoxing bromide, or after, so as not to overwhelm the detox pathways.I just started using heavy metal detox medicinals on her.I hope that helps. But it sounds like you, like myself just have to do iodine increases slowly.I increased one iodoral/12.5 per month. Now i am on 10 - 12 a day, w/weekends off.Best,AliOn Apr 26, 2011, at 11:46 AM, wrote: thank you!!!
