Marcy, Are you taking all 3 at one time? We have found that while taking it in a capsule helps you not taste the salt, when it dissolves you have a whole pile of salt in one place, and that sometimes makes us nauseous. You could try another method, put the salt in your hand like you do pills, and throw it into your mouth like pills, drink water. This gets it down without dissolving it in water or the capsule, and yet it is distributed more in your stomach. I have never gotten nauseous doing it this way. Donna in IL Over the past 2 or 3 weeks I have noticed an increasing intolerance to the salt part of the protocol.I used to drink the salt in water, then found luck putting it in capsules, a little over 1/4 tsp per cap. I have been downing two or three caps easily for seven months, and have salt loaded a couple times. But I recently noticed terrible waves of nausea. I attributed it to iodine increase. Now I see it is the salt. Whether I take the salt with or without food, with tons of water or little, with or separate from the iodine and other supplements, I get very nauseous, and for the past four days have even been vomiting it right up. No changes in diet or other.Any solutions? (I use Himalayan Crystal salt)Marcy

Could it be that you are out of balance with potassium??? they have

to be in balance or you will not feel well, and low potassium can

cause high blood pressure.

Some do better on Celtic Salt. Not sure why but you may want to try. www.houseofnutrition.com had it at a pretty good price last I checked. Shipping may be a bit high with lower qty's tho.

Do you know what your cortisol status is?

High cortisol retains sodium and wastes potassium,

Low cortisol retains potassium and wastes sodium.

Perhaps if you are high cortisol your body is wanting to reject the salt

supplementation?

It seems that I have read that high cortisol can sometimes mimic low cortisol

symptomatically at times ... someone did salivary testing thinking they were

low cortisol and actually came up being high cortisol.

Also consider kidney function.

I went through that in the early days of iodine supplementation. It would happen for a few days every time I upped my dose. Then would subside. I was drinking salt water but I never attributed it to the salt. Maybe it's because the salt is kicking out the bromides -- another route for detox.
