Guest guest
I thought the reason excess protein leaches calcium from our bones is that protein is acidic and calcium is a base, and the calcium is leached out to neutralize the acid. Is that incorrect? Crohns --a disease from cow's milk? The disease is not " passed on " per se, it is a reaction to the lactose in the cow's hormone that is the fluid that is " MILK " ... The composition of the liquid is not set up to be " absorbed " by the intestinal tract of other mammals... The mucus lining is compromised by the material composition of the " MILK " ... Also, beef or the over consumption of any animal proteins will deplete " bone mass " ... This has been know since the 30's.... It was also not publicized due to the fact the at " Dairy Industry " lobbies congress with millions of dollars annually to suppress this information.. Consumption of animal protein actually causes a response in the white blood cells of humans to raise to levels that are similar to the response seen during " infections " . It also raises the uric acid levels of the blood so high that the organic calcium of the body (in bones and blood) must be leached out in order to buffer it through the kidneys.. (If this were not done, kidney failure would be eminent... In fact, most deaths are caused by fluid retention, i.e. congestive heart failure, pneumonia,... drowning the victim.. All due to kidney failure.) The uses of calcium supplementation or " drinking cow's milk " are in-organic sources of calcium... The " so-called " organic sources of calcium are either minerals from the EARTH, egg shells of organically feed chickens or oyster shells.. I do not recall the last time that I saw a rock on the ground that I felt would be " tasty " ... The same goes for poultry egg shells or oyster shells.. They are far too hard for my to chew.. They would not digest if I swallowed pieces of them... Eating sand or rocks is considered " PICA " ... as is eating soil.... There is a need for minerals in an individual that finds " earth " or egg shells as eatable... But minerals from supplements are just ROCKS no matter what the source.. We need vegetables and fruits to gain the proper MINERALS...not supplements or milk products.... A cow becomes 1,600 pounds in 26 months.... They do not eat meat or drink milk past their weaning period.... They are ruminants.... (having two stomachs) but that does not mean much.. They have only one set of teeth...lower... And we have both sets... But they are similar... All flat as is Gorillas and Orangutans, both of which are vegetarians... They are all muscle...no fat... They cannot swim because of that fact.. No fat...no buoyancy.. They sink... Humans are not meant to be so muscular, but we are meant to be almost that lean... These animals do not DRINK MILK except their mother's as infants to the age of maybe 3 years.. They do not have Crohns Disease either... ----- Original Message ----- From: Lady Lumbee <ladylumbee@...> > <<there was a news article yesterday or the day before that said > American dairy cows have a disease that causes crohn's in humans. Guest guest
Check out Dr McDougall http://www.drmcdougall.com I have 3 of his books and a cookbook, it's essentially low-fat strict vegetarian... but he describes how many diseases are caused by diet... More info in his books than on his website, which is to be expected, but I bought all 4 books on Half.com for under $20, shipping included. Also if you check out the message board there is at least one person with a child with Crohn's that has kept her problem under control following the McDougall plan. Guest guest
My take on this: I am a Christian and this will come from a Christian perspective, afterall, my spirituality is my being. It is who I am as much as being a Lumbee/Croatan Indian is. Just do not want any that are not Christian being offended. God laid out some very plain and specific dietary laws. They include some things we find strange (or at least some do) but science has proven reasons for lots of them. Like " Do not eat meat with the milk of its mother " (if eating beef do not have milk, sour cream, butter, etc) There is some sort of chemical in the milk that interferes with proper digestion. Do not take the bird that sits on the nest from which you take eggs. You'll loose your source of eggs. Sorta like the boy cutting open the hen that laid the golden egg. Do not eat anything from the sea that does not have scales. Why?? If it don't have scales it is usually a scavenger. Do not eat scavengers. This is obvious. The laws go on. We are to completely drain all blood from animals before eating. but the most important one IMHO is to eat in moderation. God warns us not to be gluttons many times in many areas of our lives. If you look at other primitive cultures you will see that the milk they drink is from smaller animals such as goats. We do only need 15% of our daily diet to made up of acid forming foods such as nuts, grains and meats. So, by saying that eating any amount of meat will kill you, are you saying God, by telling us to eat meat (under certain guidelines) is telling us to commit slow suicide?? Ellen ladylumbee@... My husband's grandmother ate meat, did not suffer from osteoporosis and lived to be 90. Are you saying if she had quite eating meat at least by age 30 she would have lived to be 130?? During the depressions she fed the children before herself and developed pellagra. They did say just one large serving of collards per week would have stopped it. Ellen ladylumbee@... Guest guest
Thanks, Phyllis, for taking the time to answer my question. I hope you are right about being a vegetarian, because I've been one since 1978 (most of the time, anyway). And my children were (attempted to be) raised that way - one still is ( and he's in college), although the 14 year old switched to being an utter carnivore when he was around 9. Crohns --a disease from cow's milk? Yes, Sandy, This is correct.. The calcium in our bones and the minute amounts that are in our blood are used to buffer the acid through the kidneys.. This is the reason of osteoporosis...not a lack of estrogen as is touted by the pharmaceutical industry. Women, especially, cannot have an animal based diet... We must be vegetarians by age 30, otherwise we shorten our lives by 40 years... Raising our children as vegetarians would eliminate all of that worry... Guest guest
I have studied homeopathy and related health issues for over 20 years... Much of what I have learned recently is from Robin ,N.D. His website is www.alchemilla.com . I suggest that you get his materials on Internal Hygiene and Yoga Medicine.. These will be the most informative... Although he has many that are great. These are audio taped lectures that he has done in the past all over the world... He also has a great lecture modual on Epidemic Diseases that will inform you and teach you what to do for yourself and your family.. He is also my Tibetan Qigong/TaiQi and Buddhist MiZong Health and Longevity Practices teacher... I do this form of exercise daily for health, structure, well being and vibrancy.. I suggest them to all of my patients when I suggest a homeopathyic remedy for their ailments... ----- Original Message ----- From: Lashanna Small <lashannasmall@...> > Hi, can you point me where you got that information about life span? > > > >From: " Phyllis " <georgic@...> , Sandy, > > > >This is correct..
