First of all, with my son's first vaccine he got all the symptoms of

whooping cough without the virus in his blood. He was hospitalized for 3

days at the peak. He was still coughing though not as hard or as often by

the time I took him for his second vax, but the doc said it was ok. 16

hours later he had an hour and 10 min seizure that left him brain damaged

and having these hour to 3 hour long seizures on an every 2 week to once a

month basis no matter what kind of meds we had him on. To make a long story

short, the last one killed him one year and one day ago today. DON'T VAX, I

could take the whooping cough over again than to go through the seizures

and finally losing my little five year old blue eyed angel Devan.

By the way, if it is croup, steamy shower during the attack or outside in

the cold night air --- which is it gang? But if the baby's lips turn blue

during the attack and they vomit and/or drool a whole lot during the

attack, I'd take the baby to the hospital for oxygen support until the peak

passes in a few days. The whooping cough like my Devan had did a gradual

rise for about 3 or 4 weeks and then peaked to absolute agony for me for

about 4 days, then gradual decrease. We only needed the oxygen support for

that peak. Of course you will have to be prepared for the emotional energy

drain and the constant pounding of what a bad parent you are to not vax and

allow your child to go through this. If you will send me your address, I'll

send you a picture of my beautiful baby who's in heaven now so that you can

remember, you can get through a few days of agony and belittling knowing

that you will still have your baby in the months and years down the road.
